AVERAGE
Without Computer Rankings

125: No PSUer (no PSUer)

197: Rasheed - 9th (Cassar - 10th)
285: Nevills - 7th (5th)

Just a reminder that a wrestler must appear in half or more of the rankings to appear in the Average. At 141, Cortez appears in 3 rankings, and Lee appears in 3 rankings, so neither are in the Average. At 197, Rasheed appears in 6 rankings, and Cassar appears in 2 rankings, so Rasheed is in the Average. (In the computer generated rankings, where multiple wrestlers appear, I use the highest rated PSU wrestler.) Schnupp only appears in 2 rankings so he's not included in the Average. The prior week's Average was somewhat crazy in that some of the rankings were pre-holiday tournaments, some were post-Midlands but pre-Scuffle, and the Dual Index was post-Scuffle, so comparing this week's Averages to the prior week's is not a straight, apple-to-apple comparison.

Not that this matters, but I found it interesting that Nato was hurt all year but listed 1st in all the rankings, yet Cortez wins a couple of matches at the Scuffle, gets hurt (unknown how bad), and they remove him (flo, Intermat) from the rankings. I don't see how his ranking drops after only winning and then getting hurt.

Rankings do make me laugh sometimes because everyone looks at them differently and usually with their own colored glasses. In our case it only makes it more fun when people who took the rankings seriously are disappointed....yet again.

My assumption is they are kind of reading the tea leaves thinking N. Lee will be wrestling this year. I think if they had word Cortez will be back, he'd be in rankings. Since PSU doesn't divulge this, they knocked him out. Everyone knew Nato would be back.

They did mention if Lee wrestles, he will slot in around 10

But what do I know..I could be wrong..

How about the NWCA/USA Today Coaches' Poll, which moved Northwestern INTO the top 25 despite their only event being a loss to Illinois? (leading to iMar's infamous tweet)

At the risk of asking the obvious, Flo has apparently gone to subscription only to view their rankings now, right, or am I just missing something?

Fully updated, and Averages generated. The polls seem as confused as PSU fans are as to what is happening with PSU @ 141 and @ 197.
