This is great...thank you. I particularly enjoyed your explanation of X Y and S.
I read somewhere that Cephas ran a very simplistic offense as far as WR goes. He really ran one pattern and he and the QB had a chance to break it off. He either ran a fly or a dig/hook (whatever you want to call it). He'd release and if the CB played him deep, he stops and hooks. If the receiver plays him up, he goes deep. I think the idea is that he has a great mix of speed to go deep, and size to use his body to get to the ball in front of the CB.
I'd also mention that it is common to have the S be a strong bodied guy who is a good possession receiver. he'll get a lot of short-yardage digs and outs complimenting the X receiver (X clears out or dominates the DBs while the S finds an open spot resulting in that). Finally, you get those two doing the quick screen/our play to try and get a few yards and possibly break a tackle and get a long gainer.
Clearly a move to much larger WRs.
It looks like the staff has retooled the offense receiving corp to take advantage of Allar's elite pocket passing skills. I can see a lot more long balls and ones where the WR is expected to body up on smaller CBs to fight for the ball. I like where the staff is going and it is great to see them adjust to take advantage of Allar.
2022's RBs created a good offense last year. However, this is the first year that I am really excited, in the off-season, to watch the offense next year since Barkley's Soph year.
