Maybe it has been discussed, but I have missed it. We sure can not go forever or win against the best teams giving up a default match after match. is there any hope of having a quality wrestler here? Thank you.

We have recruited two elite kids, and one is in the room now, where have you been?

My question is will it be wise to forfeit the match against Spencer knowing RH is returning from shoulder surgery? I say yes because why risk an injury for his 1st match at PSU against arguably the best 125 lb wrestler ever.
If Spencer didn't run those bars the way he does I would disagree. But he does and he's damn good at it. I would forfeit or put someone else out there besides Howard.

Yes. Next week we should march Howard out there, dance for two seconds then MFF. Make that one second!

I saw that Meredith wrestled 141 against Northwestern. Is he really at that weight for 2021? I can't imagine him being big enough to be there.

Pardon my ignorance, but who are the two elite kids PSU has recruited at 125? If you're including Steen, most would not consider him as an "elite" recruit, though he's a nice addition and looks to be a career 125 lber.

He's probably a 133, but you gotta go where the matches are. Northwestern (which has a notoriously small roster without injuries) was short a 133 for the match, so up he went.

I think that is a bit harsh IMO especially for a 2x state champ. You think Tom Ryan would make a jackass of himself over a room guy? Well, on second thought I take that back.

I'll grant you he is not top 4 at his weight but we have had several of those pan out nicely and he by all accounts will be a career 125 which is icing on the cake. I hope we don't take the focus off of landing Cruz now, but we might.

Howard is certainly elite in my book

I believe the reason Howard or any other PSU 125 has not competed is Covid protocol. Howards surgery was at the beginning of his SR year in high school, and what I think I know of this kid, he will not duck anyone--even Spencer Lee.---this kid is a gamer!!

As well as the time of the surgery being addressed in other posts, Robbie while not medically clear to compete has traveled with the team and weighed in. Not exactly covid protocol.

Hopefully Robbie shoulder is recovered and not problematic for him moving forward. I personally have questions on how he translates to upper tier college wrestler. He lost to high school sophomore last year where he got out muscled. Maybe his shoulder was part of the issue. College wrestling is a different animal for the light weights coming out of high school who were more technicians than brutes. Lee and Soriano were equipped to make the transition because of their strength.
We'll see how Robbie does.

Having seen him dominate in PA for years, it's shocking to see him stuck on the bench behind Peter Lipari, who couldn't cut it at Rutgers.

Breakdown by Mike Mal was fantastic and really shows why Cael prioritized him, career 125 or not. Some of the terms he used to describe Robbie (Houdini) shows the kid has all the potential in the world to be a HAMMER.

If you are perpetuating any narrative that doesn't have Howard beating Lee in the dual, see yourself out.

#*@&in realists... This is wrestling fandom.

Exactly. You'd never get away with that on the Rutgers board.

I'm a District 11 guy. I enjoyed Northampton when Rohn had them hitting big moves.
I honestly don't know what Chlebove is doing. Originally was going to ASU but haven't heard anything recently.

He is still at ASU. Backup to the #25 ranked (per Flo) wrestler at 141.

I always liked Mike Mal's analysis on almost all areas of the sport. He is the best that Flo has.

We're only forfeiting one weight? We're gonna need to double or triple forfeit from here on out. These other teams are mutating.
