what????
neither company has franchises. all Wawa stores and all Sheetz stores are company owned. So every Wawa has the same owner, and every Sheetz has the same owner.
Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Peanut Butter Cup is best ice cream. No love for Turkey Hill?? I only know of two that are still around. One in Myerstown and one in Adamstown.
Wawa has for the most part renovated or moved into all new facilities. One complaint I would have is they are getting very expensive, especially on non-Wawa products. Sheets has generally costs less, so a few points for them.
Come to think of it, I vote for 7-Eleven in Japan.
Do they have kiosks now? They just had pre-made stuff when I was there.
Speaking of innovators here's the disruptor...I worked in the convenience store business right out of college. Sheetz was a massive innovator - Wawa seemed to do whatever Sheetz did. So, vote for Sheetz.
Wawa. Not even subject to debate.
I have been to enough and i have been to enough Sheets to make the determination. I don't trust anyone.No. Unless you’ve been to every Wawa - you wouldn’t know. Trust me.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are owned by the same company. There is no real difference between them.
LOL. Please....
SHEETZ NAMED CONVENIENCE STORE OF THE YEAR, BECOMING THE FIRST TWO-TIME AWARD WINNER
In the award's 28-year history, Sheetz becomes the first convenience store to win the honors twice, earning the 1994 and 2017 titles.
Altoona, PA (July 19, 2017) —Sheetz, one of America’s fastest-growing family-owned and operated convenience retailers for more than 65 years, is proud to announce that is has been named Convenience Store Decisions’ 2017 Chain of the Year—an annual award honoring a convenience chain displaying industry innovation and superior retail experience.

“We are so proud to be recognized by Convenience Store Decisions as the 2017 Convenience Store Chain of the Year,” said Sheetz President and CEO Joe Sheetz. “This recognition truly belongs to our employees and to the customers who have supported us for the past 65 years. Sheetz would not be the company it is today without great employees and loyal customers.”
The 2017 honor marks Sheetz as the first convenience store in the award’s 28-year history to hold the title for a second year. Sheetz was first honored as Chain of the Year in 1994, after a decade of rapid coastal expansion with the chain spanning 190 locations. Sheetz has since expanded to over 550 locations in six states and in the past year been recognized by Fortune as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, a Top 12 Best Places to Work for Women and Top 35 Best Workplaces for Millennials.
“Sheetz remains a beacon of innovation that every convenience store chain can admire. It is a family-owned business that remains true to its employees and the communities it serves” said John Lofstock, Editor-in-Chief of Convenience Store Decisions. “Family businesses made this industry what it is today and as long as outstanding companies like Sheetz continue to thrive, the convenience store industry will continue to reach new heights.”
Sheetz remains one of America’s fastest growing family-owned and operated retailed, with eight Sheetz family members spanning three generations currently serving on the Executive Committee, and eight family members holding a role in the business today.

I prefer Royal Farms over both WaWa and Sheetz but during the summer I go WaWa because their cold-brew cannot be beat.
The daughter of a good friend now lives in DC. She grew up on Wawa, and was quite excited about the new facility. Her biggest complaint, at least for the 1st week it was open, was that the lines for ordering food were insane, because so many people attempting to place an order had never before been to a Wawa, and didn't know how to use the ordering kiosks.
Sheetz also as a presence in the area but they would never build a store without being able to sell gas - so, likely no city stores anytime soon.
There is a Sheetz on S. Pugh Street in State College where Tony's Big Easy / Lulu's Nightspot used to be that is a store with no gas. Never say never.

Yes. I forgot about GetGo. I've eaten there a few times and it's way better than Sheetz. I just can't seem to break the Sheetz habit though.I had wawa just once on a road trip and the food was almost inedible. I’ve always been a sheetz person.... but I just recently discovered the get gos that have food are much superior to sheetz. I’ve only had a couple buffalo chicken subs at two different get gos, so it’s a limited sample, but both were very good. Everything bread is awesome.
Wow, that's a bit of a shock. I remember working in the industry for 7-11 in the late 90's and Sheetz was all about (and pioneering) being a 'destination' (like a mini-Wal-Mart) for people which is why they built massive, gas superstores out in the middle of nowhere.
Wawa has a few locations in center city now, the largest opened about a year ago.

I've never had good food from Sheetz, and don't like the coffee either.
Most WaWa food stinks too, but they have great coffee and bakery items (for what it is). Donuts, cookies and most importantly the pretzels at WaWa are awesome and puts them on top..
