Who's #1 pairings

The women's match might be the best bout on the card!!

Both ranked #1 in their respective weight classes in the final 2020 Girls Rankings...

#1 @152 Amit Elor (2019 Cadet World Bronze Medalist) vs. #1 @164 Kennedy Blades (2019 Super 32 Champion; 2019 Double Fargo National Champion)

You are not serious are you? Come on. Don't be a Snowflake.
It's a huge match dude. Assuming it isn't because they're women doesn't make you cool or edgy. It just makes you stupid.

Elor has been rumored to be very competitive with the senior women for a couple years now. Could be a major star on the senior level sooner rather than later. Blades has been a big name for a few years now too.

Willie Saylor's comment on the bout: "Layup. Possibly the best match-up in high school regardless of gender or style. We tried to make it happen last year but things fell through."

Guess you think he is a snowflake too?

Have to admit, a little surprised by your reaction...This is a Pennsylvania forum and I endorsed the talents of a Wyoming Seminary student-athlete.

Please tell me the level of your stupidly is not so epic that you thought it was wise to take a proverbial dump on the friend of your highest rated 2020 recruit [Bartlett]?

I mean, he didn’t even come close to using the term “snowflake” correctly. What makes you think he gave any actual thought to anything else he said?

Fair question...

I guess just my natural tendency to give people benefit of the doubt that they would not go through the trouble of exposing their thoughts unless they had first given it sufficient consideration

Kennedy Blades is a stud. She's the best wrestler on the best girl's team in the country. She works out with one of the best wrestlers in US history. If you have no interest in watching a wrestler like that, then maybe you should reassess your role in what our sport needs to do and promote to survive....

I have no role. I watch what I like to watch. And that is not women's wrestling. My choice. However good that woman is she would get slaughtered by an equivalent male wrestler. It is like Women's Soccer. Best in the world but could not beat a U-15 boy's team from Dallas. I coached girls soccer for 5 years. When they had doubleheaders with the boys team the differences were stark. My opinion and I am sticking to it.

Why do people feel the need to cast aspersions at others for having an opinion? @James P. Whitters III offered his opinion without taking a potshot at others. Nobody made any invalid points in the previous posts. Some just disagree or have no interest. But the way they were stated could use some improvement. There is never a need to put down another poster or athlete. The exceptions being Jammenz, Ironbird, PDIII, and Rutgers.

Here is the full match list:
138 Shayne Van Ness vs Jordan Williams
138: Joel Vandervere vs Jesse Mendez
126: Jordan Titus vs Dean Peterson
152: Victor Voinovich vs Jagger Condomitti
285: Kyonte Hamilton vs Chase Horne
220: Kyle Haas vs Nick Feldman
145: Cody Chittum vs Wyatt Henson
195: Seth Shumate vs Tate Picklo
73 kg: Kennedy Blades vs Amit Elor
132: Nic Bouzakis vs Ryan Crookham
160: Paddy Gallagher vs Travis Mastrogiovanni
120: Richie Figueroa vs Drake Ayala
170: Alex Facundo vs Cael Valencia
138: Van Ness/Williams vs Vandervere/Mendez

i think the problem is that there's not really a reason to say you don't care about something. this is a message board. it takes more effort to type out a response saying you don't care than it does to just keep scrolling and let people discuss the things they find interesting.

I must be a bad guy because I care absolutely zero about who wins that match. I don't watch women's wrestling and have no interest, but I have no opposition to it either. To each his/her own.

You aren't a bad guy you just have a preference on what you enjoy watching. I admittedly would rather watch men's wrestling, but if I'm being totally honest if I don't have a rooting interest or even know the two wrestlers competing against each other I lose interest in the men's as well. On the women's side of things I became a fan of Yui Susaki (saw a segment on her on NHK when she was around 15) and I watch her any chance I get (which isn't too often).

Love it when the Cancel Culture gang comes out of the woodwork! Did somebody #me too you?

Again, awkwardly wielding an insult and using it incorrectly does one no favors. Nothing about what I said was related to cancel culture (which I abhor). Just pointing out that his use is “snowflake” was stupid and not even in line with the zeitgeist.

Now you’re voluntarily adding yourself to that list it seems?

Nah, everyone has their own preferences. Just like being attracted or not attracted to specific body types or even (gasp) different races.

There are tactful ways of broaching that topic, and there are tactless ways.

I want to make it clear that I did not come to the forum to start a pissing contest.

As a wrestling fan, the women's match truly does appeal to me. I view both competitors as future World and Olympic medalists and because of their ceiling as U.S. representatives, it is a match-up that a lot of people have anticipated happening.

I truly have no desire to lecture people on what to like and what not to like.

If someone had said, "Not for me, but seems like it will be a decent match", I would absolutely respected their position and not have said a cross word.

My only issue is with the individual who labeled me first a snowflake and then a dumbass because I shared a different opinion than him.

Aside from that, I have no gripe with anyone on this matter.

I just feel like it's weird to take the time and effort to say you don't like something and demean others for being interested in it. /shrug

Also, the argument of putting a woman against a man and the woman obviously losing is so asinine. Of course that would happen. That argument is so silly and no one was even making it.

I think others have said it also, but at the Final X matches at Lehigh and State College in 2018, the women's matches were very entertaining and, on balance, better than the men's matches to my eye.

Reuniting Beard with his now-220 lb teammate would be OK too.

I really like Feldman...

I was looking into his resume for the Bison Duals and he impressed the hell out of me with how much he has jumped levels in a short period of time.

He went from being a NHSCA Middle School runner-up in 2018 to now being #2 in the nation two years later.

My only hope is that all these people tweeting and lecturing others on their overwhelming love for women's and/or greco wrestling actually view/stay to watch women's and/or greco wrestling.

I'm sure our sport isn't free from fake philanthropy. Personally, I enjoy watching both, but I don't fault others for not wanting to watch it. "That's just like, your opinion, man." But if you're one of these internet activists, you better keep that same energy at trials, watching on streams, etc.

I would just like to say that I enjoy this forum quite a bit and it tends to be relatively free of a lot of the BS I see on other forums. I always enjoy talking to other wrestling fans and hold no I’ll will against any of you.

132 match will certainly be fun

Also, based on Van Ness being at 138 and Ryan Crookham being at 133, I’m still holding out hope that they could both join Bartlett to form a future murderers row at 141,149, 157

El Jefe, please tell me it’s still possible :)

I think everyone may be a bit correct, the womens match may be the best match and very interesting to watch, but if I need a refill of my Woodford Reserve( 1 ice cube) I'm going to get it during the womens match. Much more interested to watch PSU guys or potential PSU guys. Just being honest. Need more women in NLWC, that way I would have more of an interest in following them!

We all know that presently most of this is all talk and people either trying to score points of affection from their peers or from inside their own souls.

That is social media these days at its core.

Likes, clicks, retweets, etc.

We are totally in a me first culture. The danger is it is disguised as something else, with is interesting, awful, and long term bad for everyone.

Now get off my lawn!$%#*@;$

Never going to happen and why should it? That's the last thing wrestling needs. Where would the girls trans scholarships come from? Probably split it with the boys. Might as well drop them to only 4.95. There's not much interest in women's mma and it is damn near just as good as the men. The WNBA plays in empty stadiums and makes no money. Just not happening. At least in the next 25 years. There just isn't enough high quality girl wrestlers, or female wrestlers in general, to even consider them anything other than club teams.
When it's hard to get people to watch men; they damn sure aren't going to watch women. Unless they want to go with the old adage of sex sells and I doubt they would want to do that.

Is it right? No but there's far greater needs in college sports than women's wrestling. Sorry
