Why "Social Media" is great....

But does it have a tunnel?

2 quick thoughts on this:

1) I always enjoy seeing these smaller colleges/universities get these kinds of upgrades. It’s one thing for a blue blood program to have these kinds of opportunities, it’s another for a smaller program like SDSU to be given this kind of opportunity.

2) Frank Kurtenbach is a really neat dude. His dad made him promise to take 2 years off after HS to help on the family farm. In that time he had numerous visits from the football and baseball coaches from SDSU. He eventually enrolled, was on scholarship for football and was convinced to join the wrestling team. After graduating, he was a biology teacher and coach for 16 years, then joined his brother Al at Daktronics (they make scoreboards/video boards for anyone from high schools to NFL franchises and Times Square companies) in 1979. He ended up working his way into being a board member for 29 years and VP of Daktronics for 20 of those years. His total gift pledge ended up being $2.5 million.

Q - What did you think of Iowa's offensive execution tonight?
A - I am all for it.

It might have been John McCay who authored that bute decades ago.
Remember when Brian Kelly tried to make a play off of the joke and botched it so badly it was awkward. You can't make that joke without a perfect prompt.

He literally said "I'm in favor of execution, I think we should execute the entire team tonight"

Like .... awkward.

I find the Nelson missing the meeting thing very interesting. When I played a D1 sport in college it was mandatory for us, and there was a backup meeting 2 weeks after for those who absolutely needed to miss it. Preferential treatment from the coaches?

I was a not-particularly-good walk-on (Illinois, track) and even I had to take it.

I can’t really comprehend a starter for one of the premier programs (in any sport) in the US missing it.

Coupled with Mineo’s tweet and here’s another kid robbed of his announcement glory.

Not blaming the kid in any way, but how and WHY do these kids/parents leak this info?

They cant really expect EVERYONE to keep it off SM for 48 hours.
Maybe Duke will go to Cornell, and PSU lands Knox or something.

If his glory was that important, he should have kept his decision under wraps.

Suppose this was the same meeting where the “ no biting” rule was discussed?
