Pathetic!
This reminds me of some of the crap I’ve seen and heard at PJW’s over the years. From parents verbally chastising their kid about losing a match to watching Eric Angle physically pick up a kid who lost by their neck in front of a crowd of people. Just pure lunacy and the antithesis of youth sports

This one is going to age as well as "Penn State will come back to the pack when Taylor and Ruth graduate".
Mr. Thomas says a lot of stupid shit on social media. He wouldn’t be saying this if Mitch was a wrestler from Illinois, because he’s always puffing his chest about some meaningless Greco title Illinois is winning at Fargo or whatnot.

Total homer

Well he is an OSU grad. So, cut him some slack.

I like him though, he has shared some interesting stories with me.

Come on. No way he was being serious?

I’m googling stoicism. Never cared for it but now I’m intrigued
I love when he states - maybe in this interview, but definitely in a recent one - that not giving up takedowns is nice, but it’s not a priority of his since he always plans to go out and get to his offense regardless of what happens.

I always hear about these defensive statistics - the classic case involved Mack Lewnes before he wrestled Ruth. BFD. Will Lewan gives up few TDs - easy to do when you never get out of a defensive stance.

Four years of this kid 🍀
His mindset has and will continue to help him in all his matches, especially high stakes matches. I believe that many more mistakes are made from being overly nervous than being overly offensive. He really does embody that balance of mental and physical that Cael has aspired to have in his wrestlers.

The ability to wrestle loose and confident is the primary difference I see in Penn State wrestlers. It has stood out to me ever since Cael got here. I unfortunately was one of those wrestlers who could not get out of their head during matches. Wrestling not to lose is ultimately a loser's mentality.

I am so looking forward to what Mitchell and this new crop of Penn State wrestlers accomplish in the next few years!

I wasn’t in my head I was a “work hard party hard” guy and have had to live with “what if” as well. I am very happy for Cael’ s athletes and I think those of us that have experienced the sting of “what if” or “if only”
benefited later in life from those hard lessons. When life gave me other opportunities I left the “party hard” out of the equation. I suspect you found your way to wrestling free later in life.
