Wisconsin is much more balanced on offense and most likely will continue to score at will in the second half, but Nebraska has thrown the ball easily (276 passing yards with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter) on the Wiscy defense. Wisconsin is once again slow on defense, and any QB with time to throw and decent receivers should be able to shred their secondary.

I didn’t realize at the beginning of the season just how empty the Nebraska cupboard really was. I know they’re starting a freshman QB and have a lot of new faces but they’re further behind than I thought. Frost really has a big, big challenge ahead of him. And what’s going on now will not help his recruiting at all. I want him to succeed because a good Nebraska only helps the Big Ten.

Nebraska is horrible. Will they win more than one game in the Big10 this year?

In 2012, how many athletic supporters of other schools said "a good Penn State only helps the big ten"?

F*ck the big ten. F*ck everyone.

Wisconsin has issues on D, that don’t have any easy answers.

But the real puzzler - IMO - is their offense..... a bunch of pieces that look great individually, but that once put together are an oil-leaking, sputtering engine.
I'm not sold on Hornibrook. Some of his throws have a lot of air under them. Wisconsin just ran the ball so easily at times and Nebraska cannot tackle. Every time they play, Wisconsin just runs the ball at will on Nebraska. In a sense, last night Nebraska held Wisconsin to only 41 points and 370 yards rushing.

This article says two Nebraska players have decided to leave the program:

https://sports.yahoo.com/report-nebraska-rb-greg-bell-transfer-190130574.html

which makes me think that Frost's losing, or maybe lost, the team. And having players transfer out would, I would think, make prospective recruits take a much more critical look at Nebraska.

I was surprised to find this morning that Nebraska had scored 24 points last night. I did see right before bed that at the start of the 2nd half Martinez threw a bomb that halved Wisconsin's lead.

Nebraska's defense seems to be the bigger problem, though.

I just hope Frost doesn't manage to make big improvements before Penn State plays them next year. :D

They might outscore someone, but their defense is fundamentally horrible. Nebraska just cannot tackle. Martinez, however, showed a little something last night and really exposed Wisconsin's pass defense.

From Frosts PC last week it might not be a big loss.
He pretty much called out players for dancing when being down by multiple TD's and continually stupid penalties.
Nebraska's cubbard is emptier than ours was during our illegal sanctions.
It sounds to me like Frost is weeding out the trouble makers.

New coach, players leave, happens everywhere. Frost is probably happy about it, more scholarships to give to players he wants.

I wouldn't worry about Frost. The guy knows how to coach. He took UCF from 0-12 to 12-0. The greater issue will be managing the expectations of their fan base considering the success of their program in the 70's-90's. The ceiling for Nebraska in the modern era is much closer to Iowa then it is to Ohio State.

I actually think Frost had an easier time recruiting at UCF - I don’t think he will be able to match it at Nebraska - these aren’t the Tom O days anymore.

Fan bases have to be patient with new coaches , they need a good 4-5 years to make an impact with their own innovations. Kentucky is a good example, but the HC either moves of or continues to build.
Some of our own fan base got antsy with JF in his 3rd year.
