Thoughts after rewatching Minny

He has. Look he’s been great but he clearly has things to work on if he wants to return to PSU next year instead of an NFL bench
He has all the tools, but another year if he had the weapons around him would probably do him good. He reminds me a little of a Big Ben with better leadership qualities.

However, I agree with other posters that without those weapons he is better off going pro. After a good combine showing he will not drop below round 2.

Does a POTUS have the right/power to demand the House/Senate do whatever he demands?

President-Elect Trump sure thinks what he says they must do. Where in the Constitution does it say the Executive can tell the Legislature and Courts what they must do?
Is an Executive with too much power a risk?
Will the Repub Congress critters rollover and play dead for Trump?

They better get a backbone or prove they are mere puppets and useless.

LB playing time

King has been solid, and is unquestionably the guy that should be on the field the most from the linebacker group. But can anyone answer me why Dom Deluca doesn't get more playing time? I know we are in 2 LB sets quite often, and for the most part those 2 LBs are King and Rojas. Dom gives the defense far more at this point than Rojas. Better in coverage, and way, way, way better football instincts. I don't think Rojas played poorly against Minnesota, but this is a season long observation. Deluca needs to be on the field more.
Both #13 and #0 have been having a subpar season by PSU linebacking standards.
I've taken the opportunity to rewatch 3-4 games and focused on two position OL and LB. # 13 is really good when the assignment is very clear like blitzing. When he has to react in real time and make a snap decision to gap responsibility he is either guessing or struggling to see the play.
I like #0 on special teams or blitz packages. His play recognition if fine but he looks to slow at times and appears too small.
I'm not saying anything that hasn't been mentioned here before. Go back and rewatch this last game. Watch the missed tackles from the LB position. Number #41 makes so many plays.

SEC bloodbath

Oh dear, even Finebaum has chucked it in. From his commentary yesterday:

>>I think what you’re going to hear from the vox populi is we better not get a three-loss SEC team. The only way I could advocate that is if it’s Georgia in the championship game, it’s a very tight game, and they lose. Then I think what the committee does is they just check the box with the best league in football saying, ‘You earned the right in there and whatever.'

Beyond that? I mean, I apologize. For those who are interested, I’m not going to stand up and advocate for Ole Miss and Alabama. Would you?

Now, listen, if we had a debate, if we’re sitting there trying to decide Alabama, Ole Miss, Indiana, and Penn State? That’s a different story but we’re not being asked because we would never get on that committee.<<

So to translate from Finebaumese:

The SEC is the best league and Alabama and Ole Miss are better teams than Indiana and Penn State, but the reality is that after last Saturday nobody can any longer make a rational case for ranking Alabama and Ole Miss higher than Indiana and Penn State so the SEC's best shot for a 3-loss team making the cut would be if Georgia were to lose a close game to Texas in the league's CCG because after all the SEC is the best conference and Georgia would deserve the bid on that basis but sorry Alabama and Ole Miss, you blew it, even though the SEC is the best conference.
Are we mad about this? That's all fair

Thoughts after rewatching Minny

A large percentage of Allar's passes are short, easy, high percentage passes. His completion percentage / interception rate is not necessarily indicative of his performance. In fact, I believe one of his most impressive performances was against USC and he threw multiple interceptions in that game.

Allar was not great against OSU and did not outperform Howard. If he had, we would have won the game. Howard's interception and fumble were outliers in his performance. Howard calmed down after the interception and threw for 2 touchdowns. Howard did what he had to do to win the game in the most hostile environment in college football and Allar did not. First round QBs win that game.

Allar is a good QB but he is simply not there yet. IMO Allar absolutely needs another year of College football if he wants to be a first round or even second round draft pick.
Allar is averaging 9.6 yards per completion. This is in the top ten of all the top teams in college football.
