Football James Franklin's gusty decisions help seal 26-25 victory for Penn State

It just had to be Minnesota coming off a bad loss and a bye week.

And we survived it!

Bucknuts ran the clock out on PSU in a similar situation. That’s what good teams do.
We’ll see what happens.

We didn't run it down their throats, but we closed the game out.

'Ole Miss losing helps Indiana, but Indians better hope that aTm doesn't beat Texas...

Indiana's in trouble--Cignetti knew it too and that's why he ran clock then was livid Ohio State scored late--he wanted people to think it was competitive when it wasn't.

Lots of things can save Indiana though. Notre Dame losing, Vandy beating Tennessee, Auburn beat A&M or Bama, GT beat UGa, etc

Well, we can stop complaining about other teams getting the calls

Because we absolutely got the key calls tonight, including some bad ones. Probably won because of it. That's how football goes, but hopefully we can stop sounding like complete whiners about the Big Ten favoring other teams.

A win is a win. But for those judging between us and Indiana, not sure we're head and shoulders better.

I'll take it, all things considered.
PSU is head and shoulders better than IU. Minnesota had a week to get healthy. They threw the kitchen sink at PSU today. Fleck is a weird dude but given that much time can come up with a really good game plan. As a long time coach myself, I take any win even not playing well. You survive those types of games, it makes you start to believe. Which is the key always.

Yes because Minnesota had a whole 1 penalty called against them with at least two clearly visible holds that weren’t called and an obvious late hit call that wasn’t called, all on key plays….but keep trying to downplay the win.

Franklin, your balls dropped today

I mean, if beating a mediocre Minnesota team by 1 is proof that his balls dropped, okay. Nobody watching this game is going to fear Penn State, that's for sure.

This team has way, way more talent than Minnesota. We didn't play up to that.
Cmon, they didn't play well at all. Give credit for decision making at end .

Talk about missing the point of his post - Yikes

Two screwjob spots in a row there by big cheaters - #6 had the 1st Down where caught it before being pushed backwards - then they marked 44 for a loss when the ball hit at 35.
Gutsy win & credit to Franklin for being a ballsy son of a gun

Bro cmon that fake punt? And pass on 4th and 1? Give him credit.

Does Ohio State throw the game next week to screw PSU?

It’d give them a bye and possibly a home game even if they lose to Michigan next week. And puts Penn State in the championship game to probably lose and then go on the road round 1 and no bye.
We'd be the 5 seed in that scenario--no chance in hell we'd be on the road.
They'd fall to 6 or 7--so no
