Yep. Aikman was noticably upset that they were trying to pad stats at the end of the game.
The Ravens players were at risk of injury as well there.
Hand the keys to the backups and let them play. Game was over.
100% Allar is gone--where "experts" have them ranked now means nothingWhy do you believe that Allar is definitely gone after this season? He isn't listed as one of the top 5 draftable qbs, at least in the list that I saw last weekend. Based on how he finishes this season and how the qbs that are ahead of him do, I believe that there is a good chance that he returns next season.
It could--but that has to be a better offer than WVU IMONext year we don't have Warren, Allar, Singleton, Allen, etc. That might incent him to move on if he gets a good offer.

I think when we hired him everyone expected if things went well he'd move on. This WVU article has him on the short list to replace Brown. Not sure how realistic some of those are above him. Like Cignetti isn't leaving Indiana for WVU.

You can't compare USC and Wisconsin on offense. They played each other and you see what happened. USC's athletic talent especially on offense is far superior to Wisconsin's. The Wisconsin offense should pose no problems for our defense. They have a limited passing game and an average run game.I'd like to think we can stop the run with 4 DL and 3 LBs, not by bringing Reed to the LOS. Wisconsin is in trouble if we can do that.
I expect Wisconsin to copy what BGSU & USC did. Lots of quick release passes to counter the pass rush. If PSU get's too aggressive Wisconsin might find open spaces to make big gains. On defense I expect Wisconsin to focus on stopping the run. I don't think PSU is strong enough to have the same success that they had against Illinois. We'll have to mix run & pass to keep Wisconsin's defense off balance.
I expect Wisconsin to scheme to take Warren away. The questions are:
- Did Allar turn the corner at USC?
- Did the light go on for Fleming?
- Will Wallace reemerge?
A lot of that has to do with becoming ultra-conservative inside of the 10, like with the first drive against USC. I'm a fan of the running game, but perhaps the staff should trust Allar to pass on first down inside of the 10 instead of the predictable run up the middle that gains one or two yards. If I recall, in the first drive against USC, we ran on first and second downs inside of the 10 and gained almost nothing.PSU has a habit of moving the ball but not scoring many points in the first half. The score was tied vs Illinois until halfway through the 3rd quarter and it was still a 1 score game until 4 minutes remaining. Against USC we only had one 1st half punt but we only scored 6 pts.
I agree that PSU has the ability to come from behind but continuing to do that is bound to eventually bite you in the rear end.
And we definitely can't do that against Ohio State or any playoff team but against Wisconsin--I'll be annoyed but not worriedPSU has a habit of moving the ball but not scoring many points in the first half. That's the problem for ND--none of those teams are likely going to be ranked if ND wins all three of them. Army or Navy might go 11-1 but that's not a lock but both can't see they play each otherWait, USC is a good win for ND but means nothing for us? Not sure you can pump up Army and Navy too much. This comes down to bs politics of giving ND favored nation status over Indiana. Networks know the ratings ND gets and that is what it comes down to. If that happens and I don't disagree it could then it is just another example of the crooked, slimy process where middle aged men decide things instead of teams on the field. 1968, 1969, 1973 and 1994 say "Hi", btw.

I think both are possible.
All good points. I mean, we were 8-8 in White Outs before COVID when the quality of the opponent dropped significantly.I can see your POV especially when you add in Michigan and Ohio State at noon every year. Texas vs OU has the whole state fair thing but they actually moved away from tradition this year and started at 2:30 local time. My caveat is those games have that tradition of a noon start and are known for the noon kick.
The issue is two fold in my mind, first, the nooner takes away our White Out at night advantage. How much is this worth? Not sure but I do know we have a distinct advantage playing them in prime time with a raucous WO crowd vs at noon. Second, we don't have the tradition of those other noon games. Our tradition is actually the opposite with the big game which was usually Ohio State or Michigan being a prime time WO. Started in '05 vs OSU with an incredible environment and continued through '19. You could even say it started in '02 vs Nebraska.
Yeah, this one screams "bet Penn State"--people are focused on Penn State possibly looking ahead and the night game nonsense but, in terms of talent, we're a much better team. Even on the road less than a TD is crazy. My line was -8 on if I'd bet.- He laughed at the 6.5 point spread, in his words, I would be shocked if it's less that 14 points. Does not think Camp Randall, at night affects PSU.
What a waste. What an incredibly stupid blunder by TB coaching staff. On the broadcast, Aikman was just raising the issue of injury -- the game was out of reach for TB, the game was over, what were they doing putting their best players at risk? Just two plays later, a gruesome injury to Godwin. Huge, huge loss for that team which was on track for the playoffs. It's the last he will play for TB and career threatening for Godwin as he is in the last year of his contract.
