Football Penn State to face No. 11 SMU in first round of College Football Playoffs

They have a very mobile quarterback and three very good wide receivers plus a running game. On top of that the front floor is really good. I never said they were as good as Oregon. I said that they have a similar style of organ
Agree. SMU has excellent speed in their offensive skill positions.

Football Penn State to face No. 11 SMU in first round of College Football Playoffs

the whole country seems to think we and Texas both got obscene gifts, particularly since neither of us have any big wins. When Penn State and Texas get better draws than Oregon and UGA, something is off.

As many said prior, the 5/6 looked like the best path from the get-go the moment auto bids went to 4 conference winners. Flawed system in that regard. Traveling for the other rounds stinks too in my book.

Penn State - Lehigh Dual Thread

165- #1 Mitchell Mesenbrink VS Thayne Lawrence

Period 1:
Here we go! Mesenbrink shoots off the whistle, nothing, then again & gets the TD, 3-0 in about 10-sec. Mesenbrink riding & breaks Lawerence down. They're on the edge & go out of bounds, restart. 2:26 left. Mesenbrink goes neutral start & gives up the escape, 3-1. Circling, Mesenbrink drops in on an ankle, they're scrambling & Mesenbrink comes out on top for another TD, 6-1. Mesenbrink breaks Lawerence down, & is looking for a turn, but Lawerence bellies out. Mesenbrink riding tough. He has to be close to RT by now, there isn't a clock on the screen. 1-min left, Mesenbrink riding tough & Lawerence is bellied out again. Mesenbrink is just wrenching on Lawerence. I think Lawerence gets a stall warning as the period ends. 6-1 Mesenbrink

Period 2:
Mesenbrink takes down, gets to his feet & gets the escape, 7-1. Mesenbrink immediately in on a leg, Lawerence trying to fight it off, but Mesenbrink works for the TD, 10-1. Mesenbrink with a cross-face & gets 4 NF, 14-1. Mesenbrink with a bar arm & rolls Lawerence over, gets 4 NF more, for the 18-1 TECH!

Mitchell Mesenbrink TECH Thayne Lawrence 18-1 (4:39)

Team Score:

PSU: 18
Lehigh: 3

This sums up CJF

Allar was the least of our problems. We put up 37 (should be 38) and he accounted for 4 scores.
People have to learn the game beyond "let's blame the QB"
It's also funny because the national narrative today is "Allar has the more upside than Sanders or Ward", "Allar reminds me of Josh Allen", "Allar gives Penn State a chance to contend for a title" yet our fan base, maybe because they haven't seen a good QB in 30 years believes Allar is either the problem or part of it. Only here.

He also accounted for what effectively was a Pick-6 and ending our chances on the final drive (Sorry but the last throw was on Allar - if you're going to throw a "50/50" ball on that sideline pattern where D-back has both "inside and deep leverage" you have to throw a "back-shoulder throw" which is short and toward sideline where only your receiver can access it. IOW, "throw him open"..... if you're going to throw it long in that situation, which is where D-back had leverage over receiver, there are only two places to throw it away - way, way long over everybodies' head or long-&-OB, way OB. Short and slightly OB was fine as well, but Allar put it the one place you absolutely cannot put it when DB has the inside-&-long leverage.). PSU lost the Turnover battle 0-2, which is a virtual death sentence playing the undefeated #1 Ranked team..... and Allar was absolutely responsible for both turnovers.

Kasak wasn't a world beater at this time last year either ... close decisions against both Munch and Singleton.

Some guys turn it on in February, and he might be one of them.
Agreed but he was a true freshman just pulled out of redshirt last season. We usually see a big jump in year 2 and we haven’t seen that yet. I’m not worried and do think he will continue to build and get better but I just guess I expected a bit more

I think I’m on the opposite side with Kasak. His ceiling is national champion but I don’t think he’s looked all that great so far this year. He should be blowing this kid out. I think he will continue to get better but he hasn’t been super impressive yet
With all the blood I wonder how he's cutting/maintaining weight
