For All the Nick Singleton

Singleton is a great back. He just goes down way too easily.

Coaches see this too which is why he gives up so much time.

Complete nonsense - Singleton averages 6.0 ypc (vs Allen's 4.5). He has 38 less touches than Allen and effectively the same amount of yardage. If we include receptions, Singleton still has 18 less touches and 153 more yards from scrimmage (921 yards versus 768) - and 9 TDs vs Allen's 7.

Allen is the RB who breaks ZERO tackles - I can't remember the last time Allen hasn't gone down on first contact. Singleton's overall numbers, although reduced in number due to nagging injuries, are still "elite" (he's also a way better passing option out of Backfield).

Gable Steveson saga

My thoughts are if you go professional you should be done with NCAA eligibility. This is a can of worms the NCAA should never allow to be opened. My example is, let's use any true Junior football player that gets drafted in the NFL and ends up being a bust and only plays for a year or two and is cut. Can he now test the NIL market for his services since he has a year of eligibility left?
If we are being honest, since NIL came into play, anyone receiving NIL money is a professional.

Flo rankings - 2024-25

When you think about it the Hodge ignores some difficult to quantify or qualify realities when it comes to wrestling.

Much like the Heisman, is it really 'fair'? How often does an non QB, RB, WR win the Heisman, while players who become game wreckers at even the NFL level, are ignored if they are LB, DL, or even OL?

In football the honor is skewed towards offensive scorers who touch the ball. In wrestling, record and bonus rule, but this considered equally across all weights, can be misleading IMO.

I believe in the bell curve as it pertains to athletic talent density across the weight classes. Simply put there are far fewer talented starters at heavy and 125 than the middle weights. Far fewer males are naturally only 130 lbs, and most of the best larger 210+ lb athletes are playing football or basketball.

No doubt Gable is generational and elite, but let's be honest, aside from Kerk and 1 or 2 others he is often grappling with a collection of dancing bears or dough boys, much of the time, too slow and unathletic for football.

If you win a Hodge between 141 and 184, your path is much harder and you have really earned it. Going undefeated and achieving a high bonus rate against that group of AAs and beyond is indeed impressive.

But life isn't fair, certainly when someone is preordained by the experts, just as is the case with Gable. Maybe he stumbles, or better yet MM or Carter will have something to say about it
I get your point about the weights and agree 100% but if you factor that into the voting then the "defensive" guys the 125 and hwt would never win it.

I haven't watched to much of Hendrickson because of the difficulty in viewing other confrences. But watching him this year, the punishment he puts on these other heavies, dang! If Steveson is gonna do the same and stay undefeated he does deserve it.

Because there are so few guys in those weights that can do it, they deserve it when one comes around that is that dominant.

What is the PSU Bar in Chicago?

I went to Derno's for the tOSU game and it was packed. So the atmosphere was great, but if you didn't get there early and get a good seat the actual viewing of the game sucked. We ended up having to stand in the back to see the game (low ceiling so if you sat down and weren't right in front of a TV your view was blocked). Plus in the back the sound system sucked so you couldn't hear the game either.

That being said, I imagine the crowd for the MD game won't be anywhere near the same especially since it's over Thanksgiving.

I've never watched a game at the Smoke Daddy location. A few years ago they had watch parties at the Smoke Daddy in Wrigleyville. I went to watch the Michigan game there and there weren't many people there, so it was pretty lame.

North Carolina just fired Mack Brown

I'm not saying I want JF fired, but stability doesn't mean success. OSU has had greater success with the Urban drama and transition to Day. Meatchicken has been awful but wound up wth Natty. Washington played for the natty last year. Oregon has been up and down but is currently the unanimous #1 in Lanning's 3rd year.
Yep. Depends on who you want to be. I know that I sacrificed a lot of my career because I wanted to be able to look at myself in the mirror every morning while shaving. I am extremely happy with that, or those, decisions.

One of the many reasons to not freak out at recruiting early on is this. His firing will have an effect. Who they hire to replace him will have another effect. But many others are going to be fired or quit. That will set off a hailstorm in recruiting and transfers.

One benefit PSU has had is stability. We need to capitalize on that. When you look at our rivals (Michigan, Ohio State, Washington, USC, Oregon) we have had far greater stability in the last ten years.

DNC Staffers Getting Desperate After Kamala Hung Them Out to Dry

LOL..... Wonder if @LafayetteBear will kick in a few bucks for his fellow cultists.

Kamala Harris blew through nearly $2 billion in campaign cash before losing to President-elect Donald Trump on November 5 and now, Democratic National Committee staffers have been hung out to dry.

A new GoFundMe page has been launched to help staffers in the aftermath of the election, which wasn't just a catastrophe for the campaign but also the DNC.

"Last week, 2/3 of DNC staff was laid off with little notice and no severance. We are heartbroken to see our colleagues—who dedicated countless hours to electing Democrats up and down the ballot—depart under these circumstances, and we are furious with DNC leadership for failing to provide severance to those affected. As such, we are creating a relief fund which will directly aid staff members, including single parents and workers expecting children, impacted by the recent layoffs. The funds raised will be distributed equally to any laid-off member who opts in to receive funds. We hope these funds can soften the economic blow for those impacted," a statement on the page states.

"We want to be clear: the funds raised from this GoFundMe are not a replacement for the severance we are still fighting for on behalf of our colleagues. This fund is overseen by current and former DNC Staff Union leaders, who pledge to make the administration of this account transparent. For questions or concerns, reach out to us. In solidarity," the statement continues.

To your point regarding the firings, Tulsa fired Kevin Wilson on Sunday.
