Football Latest on QB Drew Allar's injury status for Saturday's game

I've been a PSU fan for decades and I NEVER lost interest after a loss. I was bummed out but I was still interested.
  • A 1 loss team still had a chance (82 loss to Alabama)
  • I always rooted for a New Year's Bowl game
  • I cheered for a team that was told they couldn't compete with southern speed (SEC)
  • I was excited about finishing ranked 3rd in 1981, 1985, 1991, & 2005
  • Other years I rooted for a top 10 finish or a NY6 Bowl
Lando has long claimed that games are meaningless unless the team is in the hunt for the NC. I think that's ridiculous. To him Paul Bunyan's Axe, The Little Brown Jug, The Old Oaken Bucket, The Iron Bowl, and the Backyard Brawl might as well not be played.

I will admit that bowl games started losing their luster a couple of years ago when players with NFL aspirations started opting out. I also fear that this year will be worse. Assume that PSU misses the playoff at 10-2. Who wants to watch a bowl game where PSU plays without Allar, Singleton, Allen, Warren, Carter, etc?
Regular season games aren't meaningless--the significance is just much less. Auburn can be happy about beating Bama because it hurts their chances to make the playoff--being a spoiler still matters but the Iron Bowl isn't the same when the teams aren't elite. The Backyard Brawl isn't exciting--do you care about it? It's also why they're smart to play it earlier in the year when they can still have some meaning.

Bowl games are meaningless--if we miss the playoffs why would any of them play unless they decide to return next year? Even if they are returning they shouldn't play--why risk injury?

I don't understand why you were "excited" about finishing 3rd? What difference did it make where some voters put us?
In 1982 a one-loss team had a chance but in other years an undefeated Penn State didn't have a chance

The NYD bowl/top 10 finish is just--weird but to each their own. I think that's still not having accepted there's a playoff

I don't like Trump, but I'm voting for him. Here's why many Americans will, too.

@fbh1 should learn from Ms. Russell

I'm a Republican, but I don't like Donald Trump. I also don't identify with MAGA Republicans, especially the cult-like following the former president has here in Texas.

The riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, that Trump encouraged was the watershed moment that forced me to rescind my previous support for him. It was an egregious incident in American history.

For many reasons, I could make a compelling case that Trump is unfit for the presidency. I'll always be disappointed that Republican primary voters chose him again to represent millions of conservatives.

However, I will vote for Trump this election. About 75 million Americans, perhaps more, also will vote for him. Here's why.

Donald Trump's stronger on policy

Kamala Harris is too extreme

Tens of millions of Americans will vote for Trump

So if there was still a 4 team playoff and PSU lost this weekend, you wouldn't watch the rest of their season?

I don't think that is how it works, or how it has ever worked. Unless you are a bandwagon, fair weather fan.

Kamala Harris and the Dems can’t lead the country if they hate half of it

And democrats are the party of division and hate.

Vice President Kamala Harris, her surrogates and media handmaidens spent three days putting a comedian’s ill-chosen words in Donald Trump’s mouth.

Now they are pretending the sitting president didn’t call Trump supporters “garbage” and, even if he did it’s irrelevant because Harris is the one running for president.

Double standards, much?

They keep insisting that Trump and his supporters are Hitler, Nazis, fascists, semi-fascists, deplorables, bitter clingers, and now, “garbage.”

That’s half the country they’re defaming — millions of voters. Heck of a way to run for election.

Harris doesn’t have a plausible policy of her own to sell and has proven incapable of distancing herself from Joe Biden.

game of the decade.

I don't agree, actually.

If tOSU loses, they'll have two losses. I think Oregon, PSU and Indiana (ever if they lose to tOSU) will be ahead of them in the B1G. Will the powers that be take FOUR teams from the B1G in their 12 team playoff? I am not so sure.
Ohio State is still getting a home game at 10-2....I don't understand what's happening
The claim here is losing to 2 of the top 3 teams on the road eliminates a team in a 12 team playoff? There's zero chance.
Plus, they'll beat Indiana in this scenario and Indiana then has zero chance over them
Ohio State might still be ranked 7th with a loss

2026 Recruiting underway

A little early for hutcherson don't ya think? Saw him a True Power a couple weeks ago, and wasn't overly impressed. Is he good for a Freshman upper weight, yes, but someone like Dayton Pitzer was better at that age IMO.
Don’t tell some of the Hawkeye fanatics hyperventilating over any McCort kid. I think they figured out that the all Sebolt strategy is maybe not the way to go

Senior Worlds (non Olympic weights) - October 28-31, 2024

Kentchadze laid waste to his bracket. That is by far the best he has ever looked. He’s always been good but hasn’t really challenged for a world title for a long time. Pretty sure the announcers said he made the world finals 6 years ago. Absolutely incredible tournament for him.

OW for me is hands down Ono. I’m sure many will say Sadulaev and that’s understandable considering he beat an all timer in DT and another great in Ghasempour but he was seconds away from losing to Ghasempour and didn’t annihilate everyone like Ono did. Ono outscored his opponents 55-2 and had 4 techs and a 10-2 decision. His 10-2 decision was against world and Olympic champ Uguev and his 12-0 win over Vito was a beatdown of the highest order. All of this while being only 20 years old. Pretty scary for the rest of the world. I’m so excited he will be at PSU for a couple months. Lilledahl getting to go with him all the time will be huge for Luke

Guest picker for College Gameday crew?

would love to see Carl.. or frankly even Russ Rose frankly as I believe it’s the Anniversary of his women’s bball teams Historic Undefeated run ??

I thought the goal of a TV show was to entice viewers to watch, not drive them away. Get this, it is a national show, the target audience largely doesn't give a shit about Cael or Rose. The vast majority don't know or care about either of those.

Take off the B/W glasses for a moment and think about who has a NATIONAL following.

Nobody has mentioned Jay .....
Just because you call a dog a horse doesn’t make it so. I recommend counseling for your irrational anger issues.
