OT: Weekend Jukebox... let me hear it

Starting it off with something different and I thought way cool... The kids in this orchestra with Tommy Shaw from Styx... The kids faces just are loving it and smiling rocking while playing instruments and playing with the guy who actually sang the song.... so cool to see. My favorite song from Styx....

How to ensure parity and/or fix the college football playoffs.

I’m not advocating or denigrating the following opinions, just throwing them out as a starting point. However since I’m operating with severely limited cranial firepower this is all i have.
1. Limit scholarships to 75 with a strict limit of only 20 new ones every year.
2. Expand the playoffs to at least 8 teams.
3. A combination of 1 and 2 above.
4. No restrictions whatsoever in the transfer pool with immediate playing time availability for all players.
5. No immediate playing time for transfers unless they have actually graduated. No exceptions with a mandatory one year sit out required.
6. Any combination of items 1, 2, 4 and 5.
7. Leave it as it is, everything is fine.

I realize that some opinions above come with the specter of Legal challenges, but what doesn’t in our current society? Also I know that much of this has been previously discussed at different times, but what’s more fun than beating a dead horse? Feel free to add your own helpful solutions or negative, unwarranted and foolish attacks on what is obviously a brilliantly designed and timely thread.

You know what really grinds my gears (today)?

I've been sitting and teaching elementary PE from my laptop in my bedroom for 2wks. I got some steam to blow off...

TEAM DUAL EVENTS: STOP SAYING YOU'RE ONE THING, BUT HAVE THE RULES NOT ALIGN

Anyone who's had the time to read my posts knows that I coach a club (not notable or anything). Right now, with the state of the world, Dual Events are becoming more and more prevalent (more matches and easier travel, in my opinion). I love Dual tournaments, regardless of rule set. I thought the Elite 8 Duals in GA were awesome. You know why? BECAUSE THEY MARKETED IT AS AN ALL-STAR TEAM EVENT, AND THEN THEY DELIVERED A &$^@ING ALL-STAR TEAM EVENT.

USA Club Cup, assorted other tournaments... even the Flo RTC Cup: Not so much. They call it "Club Cup" or "RTC Cup", but it turns into asinine "I can pick up this athlete, who can you get?" I had a parent from TX asking to be apart of our Club Cup team. I don't blame them or hold any ill will, but having some ringer from a state hours away that I've never met on my club's "Club Cup" team seems ridiculous. Even the RTC's seem to be picking up free agents for Flo's thing this week.

I'll finish with this. I realize that any time wrestlers are allowed to compete (and/or make money from it) is awesome and we should commend/support it. I'm gonna watch any iteration of duals online because I love wrestling. Just stop pissing down our backs and telling us "it's raining". Call it what it is and hold people to guidelines.

Scuttlebutt....your opinions

Heard this from a golfer at my club, season ticket guy, pretty big donor has luxury box seats. That during the "pre-season" if you can call it that, we did not practice as a full unit, that the weight room was an absolute joke, players were not showing up and that basically it was an attitude that there wasn't going tobe a season so why worry about it. I usually don't pay attention to such nonsense but when I look at how we have been physically dominated all across the board it got me wondering. And after Matt Millen brought it up I thought maybe there is some merit to this...thoughts?

Best looking classic cars thread

I'e always admired the design of the 1966 Buick Rivera. It's not the one most cars guys would probably name (the 65 gets a lot of love, as do the later "boattails"), but I think it's damn near perfect- it's not easy to make a big car look that good

What's one of your favorites? Let's say between 1950 and 1970 or so.[/URL]

Be honest with your assessments getting to Elite status.

Since the CFA created this fraud playoff system there have been 3 elite programs and a whole lot of ain't gonna get there programs.

Ga knocks then Al, loaded with 5 stars that want a guarantee entrance to one of the Div 1 farcical circus 3 seed programs goes out and kicks Ga's doors in.

Ya... CJF has called some head scrathers and but in the end, it's a 3 team +1 occasional visitor Div 1 system and that is that for the time being.

Fans of all the wannabe in programs... just keep buying your tickets and funding the futility.

Not, me. Not now. I will be back when NCAA football makes an attempt to fix the problem they let the CFA create. If that's forever, so be it. I am not one of those that was born every minute.

Players who saw no or limited action last night

My biggest disappointment was that Ford was the only RB to get a carry last night. The running game was stopped dead in it's tracks by OSU. Almost all between the tackles. Where was Keyvone Lee? He looked good on 2 carries vs Indiana.

PSU needs another WR. It seems that Lambert-Smith is the logical choice but he's young.

DEs haven't done much. I was hoping this might be the year for Simmons to do more but It's not happening.

Did Hansard play at DT? He's another kid I hoped would make a big contribution.

TE seems to be pretty much limited to Friermuth and he might as well be a WR. Has Kuntz played this year?
