141 and 165

Some tough decisions for the coaches to make as who represents PSU at 141 and 165 at the B1G tournament.

141 - Don't know what has happened to Jimmy. He actually looked good in the tOSU match, but since than he has been missing in action. I'd have bet the bank that Jimmy would be our tournament starter, but after the last two starts, you have to give serious consideration to Moss. At the Scuffle Moss had 8.5 points and Jimmy .5 points (don't remember if Jimmy may have been injured), but that is a significant difference. I think whoever Cael starts at the dual championship will be the PSU starter at the B1G tournament; I'm thinking it is Moss.

165 - Almost all discussions on this weight class have centered on either Rasheed or Morelli; nothing on Hammond and yet he scored the post PSU points at the Scuffle in this weight class. Points at the Scuffle were Hammond - 15.5 points, Morelli - 14.5 points and Rasheed 7 points.

I've been a strong supporter of Rasheed, but managing his weight has been a great challenge for him. He has the best potential to score bonus points, but if his opponent gets him to the 3rd period, he is out of gas. I'm sure he is doing all he can to manage his weight, but I think the cut for him is big.

Morelli won the NLO and performed well at the Scuffle. He is not one to score bonus points. He is 1-3 against B1G opponents, although each of those losses have been very close (1 point). Not as exciting a wrestler as Rasheed, but a solid performer.

I'd have liked to see Hammond given a few dual opportunities; his absence from the duals is a good indicator that he is probably out of the running as the tournament starter.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

OT: All Time Worst Songs

A friend of mine owns an Irish pub. The sound system is on a computer which can access just about any song. One night the bartender was playing really awful songs (not intentional, he just happens to have really bad taste when it comes to music). So we decided that everyone (the regulars) should come with a list of what they consider to be the all time worst songs ever written. On a slow night (when it's mainly the regulars) we are going to rotate thru everyone's list and have a night of the worst songs ever. Should be fun. Here's my list but is subject to change, any suggestions?
5. The Jolly Green Giant - the Kingsmen
4. Smokey the Bar - Hank Thompson
3. Sugartown - Nancy Sinatra ( love the Tallahassee reference)
2. Surfing Bird - the Trashmen
1. I am a People - George Jones
And yes, it was hard to keep Yummy, Yummy off the list.

I was a bit surprised that NATO got most outstanding wrestler. Isn't the #1 kid supposed to beat #4? Not surprised by the BTN crew with their tOSU bias. Who do you think was the most outstanding wrestler on Friday? Give your reasons why in the thread.

Nico - What does he need to do...?

I have been a Nico fan for 5 years now. Love how he starts out our matches, high energy, high pace, almost always a guaranteed win. However, it seems like his playbook is understood by 2 or 3 other wrestlers that use his aggressive style against him and do the slide by and counters, late in the 3rd prd. to snatch a close win from him.

What does Nico have to do to turn these close losses to wins and finish at the top of the podium at MSG?

TIA for your constructive insights.

PSU vs tOSU

125 - Nico - 3-0
133 - JDJ - 3-3
141 - Jordan - 3-6
149 - Zain (fall) - 9-6
157 - Nolf (MD) - 13-6
165 - Jordan (MD) - 13-10
174 - Nickal - 16-10
184 - Courts - 16-13
197 - Mc - 19-13
HWT - Snyder (TF) - 19-18

I'm picking Nico as the "upset", and JDJ over Conaway as the other upset, and Courts has beaten Cutch every time...but your bonus points will be too much for tOSU.
