Football Here’s What’s New at Beaver Stadium in 2024

Gates A, E and F expansions highlight changes for 2024 season

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – With the 2024 Penn State Football season and a return to Beaver Stadium fast approaching, fans will see a variety of game day improvements during their visits this season.

As part of the first phase of the Beaver Stadium Revitalization project, fans will enjoy several changes to the stadium, most notably the expansion of the concourses above Gates A and E and the addition of escalators inside Gates A and E. Other new features for fans are the Gate F expansion to create a fan experience zone and upgraded South end video and ribbon boards.

As a reminder, mobile ticketing is the preferred delivery method. Fans are asked to make sure they have the newly updated Penn State Athletics Mobile App downloaded ahead of the home opener. The app was updated in July and requires an update on Apple and a new download for Google Play store. Download the Penn State Nittany Lions App: Apple · Android.

WHAT’S NEW AT BEAVER STADIUM

Gates A and E Upper Concourse Expansion

  • Located in the southeast (Gate A) and northeast (Gate E) corners of Beaver Stadium, the upper concourse expansion of Gates A and E will improve fan circulation. The expansion adds a combined 15,050 square feet of concourse space.
  • Four new escalators, two each at Gates A and E, have been installed for enhanced vertical circulation on the East side of the stadium. The four escalators can transport up to 8,000 people per hour. Please note, the escalators will not be operational until the Illinois game.
  • With expanded upper concourse comes an increase of concession points of sale, grab-and-go options and restrooms available to fans.

Gate F Expansion

  • Outside of Gate F, located on the East side of Beaver Stadium, is an open-air, 34,000 square-foot space where fans can enjoy food and drink options in a lounge area.

  • The enhancement of Gate F will also increase concession opportunities with more locations and offerings.
  • In addition, space previously used as stadium storage space has been converted into 4,000 square feet of usable fan space to improve fan circulation on the field level concourse.

New Gate Entry Process at Gates E and F

  • There will be a new entry process at Gates E and F this year to assist in circulation and congestion at those gate entries. Fans will scan their tickets prior to walking through the magnetometers in order to limit lines and waiting.

  • The ribbon boards located at the North and South ends have been replaced and have increased in size.
  • An additional ribbon board has been added on the South end fascia to complement the updated, existing ribbon board and the new super ribbon board.

  • Fans will also see improvements to East side restrooms.

Not only did Penn State win, and cover(even Josh Pate said it was "treacherous"), but blew a very good West Virginia team off the field.

Looking forward to seeing the reactions, and of course "show ignored content" 😂

NCAA is considering historic changes to amateurism rules

NCAA is considering historic changes to amateurism rules, including permitting athletes in all sports (not only FB) to play in a 5th year & preserve their redshirt; to earn prize money before college; and to eliminate the NLI.

Mattress question

I just ordered a new king sized mattress today with adjustable base. My fear is that my wife and I will never be on the same page when it comes to when we want the head or legs up or down.

So my question is, do any of you have side by side twin XL mattresses put together to make a king? If so, what are your thoughts?
My wife and I agreed on getting the same comfort and bed style, so we aren’t too worried about needing 2 different comfort levels. It’s mostly just for independent adjustability.

My main concern is how it sleeps. Does it feel like being on a twin vs a king? Also, what about, shall we say more intimate times? I assume you can’t meet in the middle or turn 90 degrees, but have to visit one side or the other. Talk to me Goose!!

College Football is so boring now

The future of college football, as it’s currently structured, ensures it’s the same few teams at the top every year. In fact, there will be a very specific pecking order like this the whole way down the rankings where the predictor of success won’t be heart, coaching acumen, experience, loyalty, etc…but simply NIL wallet size.

I used to think it was bad before but at least over a long enough time period there would be turnover in which teams were great or the occasional surprise Cinderella underdog breaking through. Now, we already know what teams are going to be good by who can buy the best players. Soon, the good coaches at tier 2 schools won’t be able to compete and will need to either move up to better NIL schools or fade away. I am afraid many coaches will be calling it quits.

Don’t get me wrong—I believe the players should be paid for all they do for the university. The NCAA and these universities reaped their financial success far too long. But we need rules…like make it similar to the NFL with salary caps, contracts, and a structured free agency. That would level the playing field a bit.

DVR alert

Since Penn State was the only Big Ten team to start the season on the road, it is highly doubtful we will be on "B1G Football in 60" this week. WVU owns the rights to the game. However, FS2 will be showing a sixty minute version of the game tomorrow morning at 7:00. Hopefully just showing the plays will cut down on the number of Zamboni and pushing off references.
