NORTH CAROLINA

Listening to the accounts of the Western Carolina residents is sad, very sad, but is evidence of the immense difference between Trump and Biden, and their Administrations. One individual talked about 8 bodies floating by as he and family climbed to the roof of their home. One woman can't get her house repaired because FEMA told her she had to repair the bridge which leads to her home. The bridge repair cost is $300,000.00 but she was told to repair and send the receipt to FEMA and they then would reimburse her and fix her house.

No wonder Trump is considering dismantling FEMA and letting the States with FED funds to do the necessary repairs and rebuilds.

Truly a pathetic situation and BIDEN and his people did little if anything to resolve these poor peoples' immense issues. Trump appears within days of assuming the Presidency and talks to the people involved. And yet for the Dems in California BIDEN hopped to and promised prompt and extensive relief.

KAREN BASS

Karen Bass demanded the hiring of Janisse Quinones, the Chief of the Department of Water and Power of LA at a rate of pay DOUBLE that of her predecessor!
Chief Quinones knew of the Disconnected Reservoir and the broken hydrants. Newsom is demanding an investigation of these failures, Adam Peters, Jan 12, 2025.
Sounds like BASS is heading for some trouble for this incompetent hire. Of course, Quinones was grossly underpaid as her compensation was a mere $750,000.00 a year!!! Yep a meager pay for all the great work that this incompetent did.
A royal ripoff and payoff!

Zelensky: Trump rhetoric ‘exactly what Putin is afraid of’

https://thehill.com/policy/international/5112832-zelensky-putin-trump-russia-ukraine-war-end/

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky argued during an interview that President Trump’s recent tough rhetoric is what Russian President Vladimir Putin is “afraid of.”

Since being sworn in, Trump has put more pressure on Putin to negotiate with Ukraine in order to reach a peace agreement that would potentially end the nearly three-year war in Eastern Europe. Trump said Putin is “destroying his country” and threatened to slap sanctions on the Kremlin if the agreement is not forged soon.

“And this is exactly what Putin is afraid of. He doesn’t want strong Trump supporting Ukraine, because it would be strong Ukraine,” Zelensky told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Tuesday night. “And the territory — territorial integrity is what every country must respect, even such country as China understands that you cannot interfere with territorial integrity, but he did it.”

Survey of 500 federal government 'managers' finds 42% intending to 'resist' Trump's authority

Link below.

The headline on the story is actually misleading and inaccurate.

That aside, the report from the Daily Signal, based on a poll conducted by RMG Research, is getting a lot of play on Twitter. However, I'm not sure what to make of it.

First of all, when they say "managers," an immediate question is how high up these people are in the chain. As in the military, there's like 10 different levels of hierarchy in the federal government.

Secondly, as someone who worked in the federal government for almost 40 years (counting the three I spent in the military) and for part of that time in mid-management jobs, I can't for the life of me understand how a federal manager is in any position to "resist" the power or authority of the President. I mean, you'd need an active and broad conspiracy involving entire offices to pull that off.

Policy is formulated at the top...disseminated and enforced by presidential appointees at the cabinet or agency level. You don't get to make your own policy nor do you have any capability to do so as a federal bureaucrat. Well, you could try, if you were a fool, but the way the game is played, you wouldn't last very long in your job...and shouldn't.

Basically, if any federal manager thinks Trump (or any other President) is such a bad guy that it would violate their conscience to carry out his orders, then they need to resign.

Anyway, it's an eye-opening poll, but I'm not sure how seriously to take it:
