2018 B1G Championship Session 4 Thread

OK. Who's the next arse to come on here and say Myles wins the big ones and Bo can't...now 6-2 against Martin.
Bo will always beat Martin as long as he doesn't go chest to chest and try a throw. That's how he lost twice.

Likewise with Cenzo. His inside trip works fine when it is a counter, not s much when he initiates the move.

Not that it matters unfortunately but what would team scores be if Nolf would have finished out weight class and won?

Like others have said though, B1G is not the ultimate goal, that is in two weeks.

197 Championship: #2 seed Shakur Rasheed vs. #1 Kollin Moore (Ohio State)

I'm curious to see what happens in this match.

Per 1
Moore reaches and Rasheed nearly gets a TD on the counter. Challenge by PSU on whether it was a TD (hand on the mat by Moore on the counter). Call confirmed -- no TD. Rasheed shoots, nothing. Moore in on a single and gets the TD, and Rasheed the esc as they go OOB with 2:15 left, 1-2. Rasheed tries a double from center field, nothing. Moore in, Rasheed sprawls, nothing. Moore tries a duck or a hi-c, Rasheed sprawls, nothing. Under 1 left. Rasheed with a duck and nearly gets a TD but the period is over. RT @ 4 sec for Moore.

Per 2
Rasheed takes bottom. Rasheed up quickly and is pushed away in 4 sec. 2-2. Moore in on a single, and gets the TD, 2-4, then a quick esc, 3-4. Rasheed tries another duck, nothing. 1 min left. End. RT @ 11 sec for Moore

Per 3
Moore takes neutral. Moore in on a single, Rasheed's knee gets bent, but Moore with the TD, 3-6, and then a quick esc, 4-6. Rasheed needs a TD to tie it. 1 min left. Moore on a counter in on a single, and gets the TD, 4-8. 20 sec left. End. Moore wins 8-4.

Rasheed really had no offense against Moore. Maybe had one decent shot the entire match. Not second-guessing the decision to go with 'Sheed, but Caesar might be a better match-up against Moore.

Was it 2012 B10s where the team had an awful round, then won nationals?

Better to have issues uncovered now than in 2 weeks.

Shak will be fine at NCAAs, this is the first time he's really had any pressure on him and he was one TD away in the third from tying a guy most had at #1 all year. Just like last year, NCAAs is better for this team than the B1Gs b/c of B1G's shorter distance between the floor and the ceiling.

Mark should be the 1. He is undefeated and the returning champ. I dont care about some preseason competition. If you want kids to sign up for the All Star match you cannot penalize them

I don't think Shak looks outmatched here, just needs to make adjustments. This Moore isn't the same Moore Cassar wrestled a few weeks ago. Rec Hall makes a difference.

I think it's more that stylistically Cassar poses a unique challenge for Moore in neutral. Whereas, Rasheed is really dependent on getting to the top position. And if you cant get a TD, you aren't getting on top. No one is taking down against him at this point. Lots for him to figure out in the next week plus.

Momentum is a big factor in wrestling. Today we lacked it a little and it showed. Boys will have a little chip on there shoulders in eleven days I'm thinking.

I have a plan for Cael. He needs to schedule Fresno State next year so Nick can wrestle in front of the home crowd.

WHy are these refs reviewing their own calls?

Ah, because that's the rule in college. This year, the NCAA gave conferences the option to use a different ref to review the video. Only two conferences, the B1G and ??? (I forget which one), decided to give it a try. For the B1G tourney, they used the same process that will be in place at NCAAs.
