TJs post indicated that Franklin was giving the news to someone, not receiving it. So the recruit could have sent his LOI in last night.
In looking at what I posted, after hearing comments about what was said, I noticed the potential impact or conflict that could come from my choice of putting a period at the end of "He Signed." How might it change the meaning if it had been written, "He signed?"
This reminds of Paterno's comments in the early GJ transcript. Imho, JoePa could have very easily been asking a question instead of making a declaration. The punctuation changes the meaning.
In this case I chose to use a "." instead of an "!" or a "?". Frankly, not hearing the comment, I'm guessing which is correct, based upon how the story was told.
In a couple weeks we may know more about the situation. While the intent is to be completely accurate in explaining what happened, we may not be able to put it into proper context until further information is revealed, however it shakes out.
Phil opened his comments on the show by saying that the Jed and Steve show had earlier mentioned what could be breaking recruiting news. He asked them to repeat what they heard. So, with that as the backdrop, it seemed like it was CJF confirming recruiting news on Friday.
But again, we may not really know until remaining recruits make further public announcements about their decisions.
It's been interesting watching the parsing of the comments by well-meaning posters, trying to nail it all down.
Thanks to all for your comments and feedback.
