That 2 second brain fart is more entertaining and more relatable than the entire rest of his broadcast career.
I'm ok with Gibbons. Not the greatest but there are definitely a lot worse broadcasters. Besides, a lot of people on HR hate him for being anti-Iowa.
I'm gonna need you guys to "go ahead and" end the Gibbons slander.
Why would I go to a “Vacation Board” to talk about vacationing when I can do it right here? Makes no sense.
Another great role for Duvall. He was great in Apocalypse Now.Cael don’t surf!
I find Gibbons very good on commenting on the technical side of wrestling. He often brings up great technique and conditioning points mid-match. When Ramos threw Spencer to his back Gibbons commented that Spencer was not going to get off his back. When Nick took McKenna down in the third period in a dual Gibbons commented on McKenna, "He's done". And he was; Nick rode out the period for the win. Those are just a few of the astute observations I remember him making during matches. He definitely comments from a coach's perspective, which I appreciate.
He has always been one of my favorite actors. I loved him in Secondhand Lions, Falling Down and so many other movies. He is on my short-list of favorite actors including Gene Hackman, Jack Lemmon, Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington.
Not too forget his role as Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird.
And a late in his career, Open Range with Kevin Costner. Liked the Great Santini also. Way too many to list. Not many can match his portfolio.
One of mine, too. Always has come across as a regular guy that never let Hollywood/stardom go to his head. The second greatest Western movie actor living, imo.
I actually don't mind Goodales Boom. It is not a bad thing for other programs to get decent recruits. Good for the sport

Crackle = top 20-50 P4P
Pop = Rutgers top recruit
Goodale with come out with a BOOM even when he gets a 3rd string high school kid!

Nothing wrong with a coach who is excited about a kid who is joining his program and wants to celebrate it. It is a good thing no matter who they are. I hope we celebrate all of our recruits who join the program no matter if they are ranked or not. I just think it is good leadership. So many on this board want to make fun to them because aren't top 10 recruits. NO program does what PS does. I get the Suriano thing and not liking Rutgers, but time to move on. I was on board with not liking Rutgers too, but its old short lived history. I have no problem with him be excited abut his recruits. From an incoming recruit standpoint, it's nice touch to be acknowledged by your new coach. Just being objective..

Kids need to hear the Jaden Rashada story or hell, any major Texas A&M or Miami player from last year.
Any booster/recruit can promise these numbers, you're going to be awfully confused when you see actual money hit your bank. I suspect there are many more Rashada's out there but they don't want to deal with the embarrassment of saying you got got and just keep their mouth shut over what's happening.
