2021 Line up ?

Pure speculation, and just based on observation, but I would not count Berge better than 50/50 probability to continue wrestling.

Head injuries are nothing to fool with.
I went through it with my daughter. She had to give up contact sports. It was not just a physical issue but a emotional rollercoaster that changed her persona to this day.
I wish Brady and his family the best.

Honestly - I think Manville loves his gig, between the Army and PSU, I imagine he goes to school for free and I think being a backup 165-184 works well for a guy who wants to focus on Greco probably.

If our guys ever need upper body work a particular week, I bet he's the first person they get paired up with lmao.
nah.. they probably get sick of buttin heads! :D

I know its early still NCAA's to come but I am new to this wrestling thing and have nobody else to ask. What does our line up look like next year?

125- Meredith/Howard
133- RBY
141- Bartlett ?
149 - Lee ?
157 - Berge
165 - Verkleeren/ Joe Lee ?
174 - Starocci
184 - Brooks
197 - ?
285 - Kerkvliet

Is is possible to see Nick lee move up to get Bartlett in the line up? Again I am new to this and have really enjoyed watching it this year so some insight from you guys would be great. Thanks!

125- Howard
133- RBY
141- Lee
149- Verkleeren (Boone/Busiello possibilities)
157- Berge
165- Manville/Lee
174- Starocci
184- Brooks
197- Beard
HWT- Kerkvliet

Team- Profit

If we didn’t punt this year, no way we punt next season.
Agree. We are in a new era of plug-and-play transfers. Top teams who play their cards right with recruits and transfers should no longer need to "punt".

Here's what Brantt (who seems to be in the know) mentioned on 247:

"Berge was not re-injured in his match vs tOSU. He's struggling mentally to recover from what happened before the season started. Physically he's good to go. This is really no surprise since it was a very traumatic incident. Really makes you think."

The important thing is he is physically fine though.
I sure hope he is OK. I've watched that match where he got knocked out, like 10 times, and it just seemed like a fluke thing. Did his head collide with the opponents knee? Then, wow, he was OUT. And, the ref seemed oblivious. Was, and is, very hard to watch. I hope we get to see Berge 100% again.

Punt Year 3 AA at 74, 97, Hwt.

Would be crazy. Not actually what I think will happen just throwing it out there.
I hear Cael, Cody, Casey and Jake are working a plan to perpetually punt. That way every fan who gets excited about being the guy who correctly predicts the next punt year can always be correct.

He's definitely ahead of Busiello.

Makes me wonder if he might be the 157 backup option next year.

How old is Barraclough? Kaysville is a pretty Mormon area, so I was curious if he might have been on a mission or not.

Nope, not hoping for surgery for anyone, and I'll just root for whoever we send out next year, no matter who that is.

And with all due respect to you and the other 3 or 4 posters, I'd just prefer to wait and hear official news instead of accepting a medical prognosis from folks on here. No reason to doubt you or anyone else, just my opinion.

I found mention of the shoulder injury at nj.com. This link also has the highlights of his Championship final.

https://www.nj.com/highschoolsports...bert-howard-leaves-legacy-for-all-to-see.html

From the article, it appears physical therapy & time healed his wounds:

Before the start of the season, Howard tore ligaments in his shoulder and tried to wrestle through it at the Beast of the East. The injury, the first of his career, added to what his father, Kelly, said was one the most challenging years of his life.

“Loss was everywhere,” the older Howard said. “He spent more time at physical therapy than on the mat, but he was determined to come down and get his hand raised.”

He looks like he is going to his senior prom. That's why if he can add some man strength, he has a much higher ceiling. He already has these characteristics.
1. High IQ, both mat IQ and smart smarts (Biomedical Engineering)
2. Great reactions and mat awareness.
3. High motor (he is always running back to the center)
4. Really good kid.
If he adds some strength, he could be a viable 157. But his window probably is probably 2022-2024. That level of strength increase may take more than 9 months to achieve.

There will be at least one MAJOR transfer coming in.

Also, don't think we see Berge again.

I haven’t seen you post before. How do you know this?

I am not one for Internet rumors but if PSU was to get a major transfer I would guess it would be at a weight of major need for us.

125
149
157 (based on the Berge situation).

I don’t see any other weights getting a transfer in for next season.

Let the wild speculation and baseless claims begin!

Of course not! Yeah I remember what Marky said bout him lol.

See you're close to boro, do you know Carter personally?
No inner circle stuff, but I'm an Erie guy and have seen him come up. I know guys at Cathedral Prep that offer good insight. It is funny, he was so depressed his first 2 months in the room. He hadn't taken anyone down. His HS coach tried to explain that not everyone in the country is trying to roll with Cenzo, Hall, Nolf, Bo, and DT. He definitely isn't the same wrestler he was in those first 2 months. He's taking guys down.

He said he doesn't think we'll see Berge again and the transfer is MAJOR! It's clearly Hayden Hidlay.

LOL so if we do I was right and if we don't we win Natty and I still win!!!! Holla

Carter has looked by far the best of the redshirting freshman this year IMO. I haven't seen any weaknesses in him. He mat wrestles like a seasoned vet already.

Based upon the sentence structure, the poster reminds me a lot of someone who posted here a few years ago with inside information, but chose to leave when he was hassled.

Cstar looks legit, but to already expect him to beat Kem seems like a stretch.
Just a bit of fan confidence. No wonder, as he's been fun to watch during his RS year. He's a good one, and it'll be fun to see him wrestle the best.

Do you think he’ll tryout for Jr worlds/any FS stuff this summer?

Starocci looks like Matt Brown with more offense. His opponents are gonna be physically and mentally spent.

Iowa will wrestle at PSU next season as part of the BIG rotation.
