2022 Southern scuffle

Lee up 3-0. TD and penalty point which is being contested at the moment.
Lee escape and quick TD. 6-0. Seems to have come alive. You can hear Casey in the background giving lots of advice. Now 6-1 and whoops 6-3 ... hope this isn't the slow fade setting in. Start of the 3rd pd. Lee on top. 6-4 now. Ach 6-6. Gave up TD to Stanford guy. 30 seconds to get out for the win.

We are in OT. Lee with the (somewhat) surprising TD and the win 8-6. Facundo up now. Same mat. Against Bullard.

Joe lost it, if he had it. He seems to have no fire, and is unfortunately not a smart wrestler. He'd beat me each time, but he's not on his brother's level.

Then he goes and wins.

J Lee made that wayyyy harder than it needed to be.

Nice finish in OT! But boy Joe's 3rd periods have been pretty brutal, he even had a long break in the 2nd for this match... gotta get that figured out

Facundo up against Bullard.

Lots of hand fighting again for facundo

2-0 alex with a td

bullard escaped 2-1 end of 1

Alex can't get out and let him put legs in. Not great.

2-1 Alex, I missed why?

Alex needs a td, he's losing with riding time

Alex in a good position but can't get the TD and a stalemate is called.

Can't figure it out and loses. that second period was awful for him.

But he always finds time to celebrate pinning the Maryland guy that ends up beating him later at the conference tournament.

It isn't all that difficult to figure out. There is a single way to effectively build a bigger gas tank.

Facundo 2-1 after first pd. Double leg TD and then escape.

F. on bottom second pd. F. almost out but then B. puts in double legs and riding him out

Start of 3rd. B. with 1:45 riding time and escapes 2-2. F. needs a TD.

F. almost had 2 TDs at the end but couldn't extricate his leg. B. wins 3-2 on RT.

Would’ve been out in the second period if he hadn’t tried for the reversal. Changed the entire match.

It's relevant to his wrestling today how exactly?
We just gonna ostrich it when someone at PSU gets super cocky like he’s God’s gift then embarrasses himself a few weeks later?

It’s relevant today because when you flex on guys like that you better be a guy who backs it up. Is he?

Fac has the better future. All teachable moments that lost the match for him. Hell figure that out.

His offense is there.

Looking forward to his attitude on the backside. I think he would win a rematch with Bullard should they see each other again.

For what it is worth, my take on Facundo is this:
He just needs to learn some finishes, and to be better off the bottom. By this time next year he beats the kid he just wrestled by 6 points or better. However, removing his shirt this season searching for points is a huge 'not going to happen" and would be a waste.

Hang onto something from last year and try to make it relevant now....

Yep, I was right. A total d*ck comment.

Facundo will get to his finishes with more time to develop in the room and coaches helping him. I’m super pumped after watching that match honestly. He gets to the legs clean almost at will. Gotta work quick clean finishes and get out on bottom. If he gets his 1 there and doesn’t try the reversal he wins that match.

I’ve watched both Bullard brothers win that same match for 4 years. It’s relatively effective but also god awful wrestling to watch
Agreed, it ain't pretty but the Bullards have been riding and scrambling their ways to victories for years now. There's a long list of people they beat who say to themselves "if I only finished that TD" or "if I only gotten out quickly"

Something that happened a year ago, with nothing today to precipitate the discussion is not in any way what so ever going ostrich. It is however, dickish. So there we go. We answered whether your comment was intended to be dickish or not. Something here was accomplished. Yippee!

If he’d just pushed Bullard away, he gets a point, riding time stops (Bullard DOESN’T get the RT point) and he gets a shot at taking him down again.

So frustrating to watch.

Mostly agree. He’s not ready yet. Question is whether given his superior skill set, can he get ready by March? Will he score more than Edsell at NCAAs? That’s the only question. Wasting a shirt is not relevant, he can shirt next season.
