2024 NCAA's - Match/discussion threads (merged)

Reminder Carter wins controlled decision matches healthy. Look at his past NCAA results lol. He had conditioning issues as is this year and likely missed significant time to gain it back. It's a 3 day tournament, don't empty the tank day 1.

He moved well but knew when he had to bail. Mekhi will be a doozy of a quarter obviously and I expect he's planning for that.
The more I think about it I think they told him exactly what you're saying. Just get a lead and cruise because his toughest matches will be the quarters and semis.

Last year at NCAAs

4-0 to Washington (you know he wanted to do more lol)
5-2 to O'Reilly

I was legitimately worried about the Foca match then he had another gear saved.

Don't get me wrong, he's not 100% but he didn't seem to be favoring the knee.

He really wasn't favoring it, every time he got up that was the knee he pressed off on.

I am so impressed with TJ Stewart. I liked him a lot in high school but I was concerned his lack of length might be an issue. It sure hasn’t been. He is super dynamic on his feet and is fun to watch. His first win against Fishback in the dual was awesome

This may well be part of the story, but Starocci also didn't look near his normal self.

184: Bernie 18-3 tf over Pine from Clarion

Looks like Bernie came to wrestle. An series of takedowns and near falls to secure the tech. Maybe the most impressive so far. Looks like Hawk from Mizz next.

Nagao draws 26 seed Moore and then most likely 24 seed Chelebove. Then it’s probably 16 seed Bouzakis, who beat Nagao in the dual meet, holding off Aaron’s 3rd period comeback. If he can win that, he’ll have to beat the loser of 3 seed Orine and 6 seed Arujau to reach the podium.

Kasak draws 23 seed Roberts and then the loser of 8 seed Swiderski and 9 seed Fernandez. A win there will probably draw the winner of 15 Munson and 17 Rooks. And then it’ll take a dub over the loser of 6 Gomez and 3 Arrington to reach the podium.
