I mean, Bernie is very, very clearly not right. Anything after that point is useless for evaluating.
He didn't prove anything. Truax was hurt a minute into the bout.
Completely different match when the one guy wrestles the last 6 minutes wondering how much weight he can put on a leg.
184 QF: #6 B.Truax vs. #3 D.Plott (OKST)
P1:
Bernie quickly in on an ankle & gets behind for the TD 3-0
Plott to his feet & out for the escape 3-1
Both wrestlers in the center, tying up, snaps & breaks, looking for position
Plott shoots & gets the leg, Bernie defending, Bernie grabs an ankle too, but Plott works around for the TD 4-3
Bernie gets his right knee tweaked. The refs should have probably stopped that earlier. Yuck.
Casey & Dan Monthly out on the mat. Bernie doesn't look good.
Someone from PSU just threw a brick out
Bernie still down, Byers saying he might not be able to continue.

Plott takes down
Plott to his feet & out for the escape 5-3
Bernie in on a leg, but Plott sprawling

Credit to Bernie for toughing it out. Clearly hurt from that bush league knee crank by Plott. Thats one way to do it i suppose. Hope Bernie can wrap it up and come back strong tonight 💪
Okay, just rewound and found it. That is not dirty. He's trying to shelf the leg to beat the shin whizzer. It's unfortunate, but not dirty.
Plott down 3 one, in on a single that Bernie fought for 15 seconds, then clearly twists the leg inside with pretty heavy torque inside. Bernie gives up the 2 and then injury time for Plott = 5-3 up and a limping Truax.
Halfwayish through the first. Bernie got a TD right away and then Plott escaped and got right back in on a shot. Bernie's knee got twisted in the ensuing scramble. Looked like it might have popped and Bernie gave up the TD and called for medical TO.
You see that exact sequence all the time. You use your knee to straighten the leg to relieve the pressure from the whizzer.
Don’t forget how Ed Ruth performed in the 2011 tournament.
I also remember how the Lehigh Hwt pulled the same BS against Wade. He had his leg in the air from the back and gave it a deliberate bump with his hip. The ref should have called him for that.
You usually don’t twist in the process of doing so

I can honestly say I have never seen a guy intentionally twist like that, from anyone including the Hawkeyes. Or Okie State before today. It's a clear twist/roll attempt.
