2024 NCAA's - Match/discussion threads (merged)

Coming clean here. I didn't think Carter could do it. Unbelievable!

I'm glad to say that I was always reasonably confident that he would. I don't think Carter was playing rope-a-dope yesterday, but I think he WAS testing the knee and seeing how things worked. You had to know that he realized the Lewis quarterfinal was his biggest test in the bracket and that he'd let it all hang out. I'm thrilled for him and think he'll win two more this weekend.

Kerkvliet cutting too much weight. WTF!

Hats off to feldman he's really good. But Kerk has to score and not keep it close.

Feldman reaches for an ankle, but backs out quickly before getting crushed
Tying up again, but not much action

Kerk to his feet & out easy in 3-sec, Feldman didn't really try to stop him 1-0
Tying up in the center again, just circling
Kerk snaps & reaches for an ankle, but nothing
Feldman not doing much of anything, just seems to be trying to not get taken down
Head slapping & collar ties, but not much more action
Period ends
1-0 Kerk

P3:
Feldman takes neutral, he does not want to be under Kerk!
More tie ups & circling
Kerk with a half shot
Kerk in on a leg, Feldman sprawls & they're back to center
30-sec left
Back to center,
Feldman shoots, gets a leg, but Kerk gets the hips back & kicks free!
Stalemate, restart & the period ends!

#1 G.Kerkvliet DEC #9 N.Feldman 1-0

Another win! Feldman looked like his strategy was to keep it close & try for a takedown at the end. He was extremely cautious throughout the match, but just couldn't get the takedown at the end. Kerk is just too powerful for him & seemed in control the entire time. Great job Greg! On to the next round!
