Michigan State gets a WIN! Big win over some guy from Iowa. Some called it an upset
Cruz should become a boxer. He got beat in wrestle backs. No offense at allIowa wrestling can’t elevate when they reach these tournaments. Their wrestlers have absolutely no offense. It’s rinse and repeat every year.
None takenCruz should be one a boxer. He got beat in wrestle backs. No offense at all
His legs are way to easy to get to. Probably didn't care much in high school because he would just power to a counter . It's different at this level.Davis' combination of zero Neutral Offense and propensity to give up his legs is going to be lethal at Nationals...... again. You need more than toughness to do well at Nationals.... tough wrestlers are a dime a dozen at this level - honestly, they're all tough generally. Wrestlers with Neutral Offense against AA-capable opponents is much rarer...
FIFYOk, I'll be the one to ask.
What's going on inColumbus? Iowa City?
YesDavis will have another match tonight, right?
I think the reason LL pushed Cruz when he was OOB was from the cheap right cross slaps to LL's head.Cruz should be one a boxer. He got beat in wrestle backs. No offense at all
Hahahaha! That’s a deep cutMSU 158 still working on math for Nebraska 😂
That's it. Hawks take 9 to Philly instead of 10
that's what I was thinking! When Shawver deliberately walked out of bounds with Davis over his shoulder, why wasn’t that stalling?
Yes, they’re down in the room wrestling with it right now. It’s really up to them. 🥸They are posted right on the main page.
EDIT: Looks like they took them down. They've been having server and software issues all-day. Someone is probably fixing it now.
Very interestingDavis might be pretty good if he could get some offense.
Maybe. Cruz hasn’t qualified and will have to win a mini-tourney for the 9th and final allocation. Maybe he’d get an at-large if not? That's it. Hawks take 9 to Philly instead of 10
Ah, my bad. However, Cruz hasn't secured a spot yet so Iowa could have 8 instead of 9.7 for 141 and Schreiver is out.
The one that gets me is how he beat Rivera. I watched that one and he was just better. WeirdHe's not very good. No idea how he beat McCrone.
Davis also has a tendency to collapse to a hip when he’s in on a leg in scrambles. He did it last year too and it has cost him. I don’t think it’s a strength issue, just bad form or balance. His legs are way to easy to get to. Probably didn't care much in high school because he would just power to a counter . It's different at this level.
I think he’s in hiding. He only comes out if there’s an inch of hopeMSU 158 still working on math for Nebraska 😂
Haha that’s why I deleted that other post. It occurred to me you might have meant they may not even get to 9.Ah, my bad. However, Cruz hasn't secured a spot yet so Iowa could have 8 instead of 9.
And the second he comes out they smack him back down over at GIA 😂I think he’s in hiding. He only comes out if there’s an inch of hope
Look back at Carter's redshirt year and his first year in the lineup. He was a bulldog, always moving forward, could ride, and had a lot of matches go 1-1 to OT or he would win a 2-0 match with an escape and riding time point against AA wrestlers.Davis' combination of zero Neutral Offense and propensity to give up his legs is going to be lethal at Nationals...... again. You need more than toughness to do well at Nationals.... tough wrestlers are a dime a dozen at this level - honestly, they're all tough generally. Wrestlers with Neutral Offense against AA-capable opponents is much rarer...
He's a strong as a horse. He needs to spend more time inside than out. Let's see if he does this against riniThe thing I see in a lot of Davis matches is that he struggles to clear a whizzer
So is the offensive effectiveness of push, push, push and stall call secondary to the Iowa crowd singing "heeeessss staaaalllllinnnnn!"Isn't he dead?
wells was r12 at NCAAS last year. 0-2 BBQ this year at B10sRini beats Wells in SV.
Just like Iowa and Rutgers qualifying all 10 for the Big10s.Penn State has now qualified all ten wrestlers for NCAAs.
