2025 Big Ten Tournament thread

Brown would have had 35 seconds to take down a gassed Davis again and sent it to OT but decided to go for the turn. Hopefully Davis can get his issues sorted out over the next couple weeks.

He snaps & shoots, but Clark fights him off. Clark shoots, but Van Ness fends him off. Van Ness pressuring forward & drops in on a slick double leg TD & blows right through Clark, 3-0. Van Ness drops to a leg & brings Clark back to the mat. Van Ness goes over 1-min RT. Van Ness works a crab ride & has Clark bellied out on the edge & rides out the period. Van Ness +1:38 RT

One ref is looking at the screen & the other is screwing around with something on his belt. I'll cover the Bartlett match after this. Locked hands is waived off. The score goes back to 10-1 Van Ness, 1:44 left. Wait, now they have to review the clock. The zebras are back at the table & they're both looking at the screen this time. I hope this match finishes before Barr comes up. Back to action, finally. Okay, it's all figured out. Van Ness gets an extra second of RT. That was definitely worth the delay. Restart, Van Ness is still down. He gets to his feet, but Clark takes him out of bounds. Van Ness is still down. He gets to his feet again, but can't get hand control & Clark takes him out of bounds again. Van Ness is still down. He gets to his feet & is working for hand control, but no luck. Clark spins Van Ness to the mat. Van Ness turns in & is working for a reversal. Clark is holding on to the leg & gets a count. Stall on Clark, point Van Ness, 11-1, restart. Van Ness is still down. He stands & is fighting to get free & it's stopped for something. Van Ness is still down & gets to a quadpod, then his feet. He turns & gets the escape, 12-1, with very little time left. Brief circling & time expires.

Shayne Van Ness MD Andrew Clark 12-1

Van Ness is on to the 3rd place match!

no gas he was resting up for his next match and quit giving up your damn legs!

Producer/director switches mat 1 camera to mat 3 during video review and then never switches back. Two mat 3 streams going on right now - can't watch Davis' match.

Clown show.
I think the JV crew has the helm for coverage of this round. Up to this point the BTNplus coverage has been spot on.

BTW, the PA announcer has been confused on at least a few occasions (referring to wrong mat number, etc).

Hard to complain about that start for the good guys. Now get Barr into the Consy finals too and it will have been a perfect round (with a bonus win for Van Ness). Win and advance. 10 guys in the top 4 (and the vast majority at 3rd or higher, assuming of course that Barr wins). Nothing wrong with that.

Bartlett vs Mendes for 3rd. I bet that wasn't predicted in KYPSW

Seeding implications aside, that's always a fun match. And, the seeding implications are great. IF Mendez wins, God knows what they'll do with 141 at NCAAs, but IF Bartlett wins, I don't know how he wouldn't get the #1 seed. He'd have only one loss and have a win over Hardy and 2 wins over Mendez.

How are we feeling about Kerk v Gable today? I understand Gable is the favorite but the entire wrestling community acting as though it's a foregone conclusion is a bit insulting. I'll say Gable by 4 or 5 points, but wouldn't be stunned if Kerk pulls off the upset.
Cael pulls a Ryan and has Kerk forfeit to Gable. When Cael is questioned about his decision, he reminds everyone that Kerk started out at The OSU, and that's the way they handle it.
