GREAT! No time to sleep on this!!I hear Mike the pillow guy is investigating.
Welllllll, I did hear one Iowa wrestler was obviously pinned and it wasn't called. 😂WTF are you guys talking about? PSU WON THE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP. Penn State was the victim of MASSIVE VOTING FRAUD by the judges!
Most likely, at the end of Spencer's time at Iowa they will have won one national team championship.
Not too late to jump
Haha wtf is this! ^For me, I am enjoying that we won. Your program is elite and will be elite for the foreseeable future. I just don't think my Hawkeyes will be able to compete at your level for a while. We might be competitive with you next year, but after that the future is Penn State for at least 3 years. I wish more Hawk fans would enjoy the moment and not get so frustrated my your dominance in the finals.
If you like to win and have fun doing it, Penn State! If you like to win once a decade and be miserable while doing it, Iowa. The question is if you are a NCAA division one recruit, which team would you prefer?
Discount Spencer at your own perilIf Spencer wasn't lying in that horrible post match rambling interview he gave last night and he has TWO blown ACLS and he thinks that he can take actually take on a healthy Nick Suriano, Gilman and company in two weeks, he is DREAMING!!! They will rip him apart and permanently destroy his knees ! That means he will need both knees repaired after the Olympic trials. There is no way he will be ready to compete in CFB in 2022. His college career is over.
I always love reading comments like some of these. It's like some of you tossed out the importance of winning the team title. It's an individual sport now right?
I feel bad that Kemerer and Eierman lost of course. That's a testiment to how good Lee and the young Starocci are. Marinelli can't catch a break and more ACL trouble for Spencer. Yeah a little bittersweet.
But I am glad to see the whole Hawkeye team put up points and take the title. That medal round for Iowa was legit. This should have happened a year ago and hopefully it does next year.. Go Hawks! We are here to stay even if you hate us
(Oh and btw thank you for taking out Fix! I rather enjoyed that one)
The fact that Eierman is the current lead photo on the NCAA Wrestling home page makes me chuckle.

I never said "you" hated anything. For the record I don't hate Iowa or any team for that matter. I also don't hate or even dislike any wrestler. I do dislike the actions of some coaches and wrestlers and that includes coaches and wrestlers from all teams not just Iowa.
Also your first paragraph is a text book straw man argument, and therefore complete BS. No one is tossing out the importance of winning the team title, which is the ultimate goal for the team.
WildTurk,I never said "you" hated anything.
And strawman? Come on. Tinman, snowman, Ironman, whatever you want to call it you have people that suddenly decided 4 individual titles is better than A team Title. Thats why this thread was created right? I was just noting that. No big deal. Time to move on
You posted this right after I said you were a good man in your thread? Ouch.. You are such a softy! God bless youWildTurk,
It was just a couple PSU fans expressing delight in their team's finals performance. And it's on a Penn State forum where it belongs.
What I don't understand is why you felt a particular need to join the discussion in the antagonistic way you did.
This is the 22nd year of the current scoring rules, which are used for the NCAA Championship, the Conference Qualification Tourneys, the Scuffle, and all other tournaments with team-scoring (the NLO was one, once upon a time), and a team champion. Also, similar points were awarded all the way back to 1979 (from 1st thru 8th: 16 – 12 – 9 – 7 – 5 – 3 – 2 – 1) . Prior to that, there were only 6 placers.
Not knowing all the mid-season tournaments that have team scoring, I'm still guessing it's been used over 500 times in those 22 years. And now all of a sudden because it doesn't fit someone's narrative, you want it changed?
Your posts in this thread would be more convincing had an actual Hawk fan not come in and admit that he would have rather seen 4 champs than the team title. Seems like a legit conversation to me...The posts just get better! Happy Sunday.
Iowa should try taking the PSU approach sometime and win multiple individual titles while also winning the team title. That way fanbases all over the United States would be talking about them instead of PSU.I never said "you" hated anything.

@RoarLions1 or anyone else, do you know who travelled with the team, just qualifiers? If so, is it because of Covid or is that normal? Just wondering if Beau was able to go and experience it.It's not just about the finals. I can't remember a year, going back a long ways, that I didn't have that empathy-wrenching feeling in my gut about wrestler's losses. This year it was for Howard, Berge, Lee, Beard and Kerkvliet -- and I couldn't help thinking about Bartlett during the tourney.
Thing is, that's life, and part of the growth, both wrestling-wise and life-wise for the wrestlers.
Wondered about that too. Didn’t see him in the team photo. Just took a quick look though@RoarLions1 or anyone else, do you know who travelled with the team, just qualifiers? If so, is it because of Covid or is that normal? Just wondering if Beau was able to go and experience it.
HR is where one goes to become dumber on the subject of wrestling. Or more practiced at excuses, and better able to offer solid sounding rationalizations.Well I spent some time on HR and read this little gem,
"I were a kid watching I’d rather be a skilled Iowa wrestler than a decent psu wrestler with a great game plan. The Brands’ will adapt and be better for it or they’ll be gone but kids saw excellent wrestling from Iowa and excellent preparation from psu."
So I suppose the opinion is our wrestlers are not as good, but are game planned better. What I don't understand is that isn't this coaching, and if it is, why can't the Iowa Staff game plan better, i.e. coach better?
BTW I feel dirty for being there.

So, now, neither recruiting, nor preparation, makes one a good coach.

They like tough wrestling. They hate politicians and OTYour posts in this thread would be more convincing had an actual Hawk fan not come in and admit that he would have rather seen 4 champs than the team title. Seems like a legit conversation to me...
Let's also add that it doesnt help much when you see PSU overshadow the team titlists all night and ESPN pretty much making the Hawks an afterthought to most. It must be killing you to not be able to troll us by saying "it doesnt look like PSU was having f** Saturday night."

Cael said the same thing in his post tournament presser. That's not a fence I'm on, far from it. I'm more on one side of your supposed fence than most, giving an opinion in this thread that winning the team championship is still the ultimate goal. But that's just one man's thoughts.
Butthorn; if you're going to play the gif game with me and @jmadden1998 , you need to avoid the offensive verbiage. Just trying to coach you up a little. It's what we do at PSU.
