I am a Pens fan and really don't see an issue with Niskanen. He was in a tough spot. The trip by Ovechkin had Crosby falling. He and Niskanen collided. It would have been nice if the stick was down but that fast it happens. 5 and a game misconduct was probably enough.
Ovechkin is more problematic. He is one of the king's of the slew foot. To me the slew foot and knee to knee hits are the two most dangerous things you can do on the ice.

never said that. I don't think I've watched an entire hockey game all season. I did catch parts of two or three games of the Pens or Blue Jackets. Fact is, it was a dirty foul. I don't care what Cosby or anyone else did in 1987 or whatever. A dirty foul is a foul. One that takes out a super star is even worse. The league must address this and soon. Its a goon league if they don't and the skill of the game is lost.
You just only seem to complain about it when it's against the Pens.
Maybe I'm wrong, though. Were you equally outraged when Crosby was committing dirty fouls? Could you point me to those posts?

Its a garbage league. Why cross checks are allowed period, let alone shots to the head, is beyond me. Say what you want about the NFL going to far the other way, but you hit guys in the head, there are consequences. The refs were horrible in that game.
