It could be that he has checked out and is just going thru the motions. For some guys they have been wrestling for 10+ years and at this point and it wears on you. It's probably like taking out the trash for him. JMO of course. I'm sure his team mates understand. I hope wish him luck at Nats and then after when it really matters.

Really need Burcher to lose here. Keep it under 8 points, that an important number heading into the finals.

Just need Pletcher to lose and take 3 of 4 in the next round. Unfortunately, Pletcher owns McCrystal so far.

Iowa secures 3rd place, Nebraska eliminated.
Not quite. Iowa is at 99.5 points and Nebraska has a max potential of 120.5 and MN has 116. Illinois still has 99.5 max potential as well (they win all in pins and Iowa loses all).

Theoretically, PSU could finish 4th

This isn't all perfect, as there are common battles between PSU/Iowa/OSU as well that automatically lower the max.

Call me delusional, but I believe PSU still has much more than an outside shot of winning this B1G title, I could see tOSU very possibly going 1-5 in their finals matchups.

my biggest fear is that Snyder will need a pin for the team win and Medbery does a fat man, give-up pin where he rolls to his back.

Just realized Burcher could be out of NCAAs. Don't think he earned an allocation.

Real strong possibility. He's 16-16. Best wins Sebastian and Gunther, both also beat him.

Gotta think there are 4 more deserving candidates out there. For starters, there's a much better case for Gunther.

Jr had nothing left in that last exchange. Doubt he qualifies so there's a few points they won't have at nationals.

My heart breaks for jimmy, hopefully he gets into Nationals and ends on a real positive note. I will always remember him fondly for coming up big in many situations and being a part of 2 national championships...hopefully a 3rd in a few weeks..Lets move on and support the guys we have out there and afterwards start talking about next season.

Agree. Not even mad. I'm sure he is very, very frustrated and very aware of what his performance this weekend meant to his team. The kid is just a complete enigma.

Wtf happened to this thread.
Good question. Looks like the anti-guys that diss everyone on Lions Den have taken over wrestling room where most of us are just interested in wrestling results, not opinions of non-wrestlers. Lets just get back to following the wrestlers, their results .. and rooting for every Nittany Lion to do their best!!

Don't think people should make insulting comments or get overly personal, but there is nothing wrong with stating that Jimmy has cost us a lot of points by wrestling so far below his seed @41 (especially given that many of these points were surrendered directly to Pletcher). The athletes put themselves out there - that's what it's all about. The reason PSU is not going into the final session with a much better chance to win is the quite simply the results at 141 which are well beyond anything imagined to the downside. If Jimmy produces even half the points he should have, PSU is going into this afternoon's last session in decent shape.

He's going to Nationals. He finished 8th and the B1G has 9 auto-qualifiers @ 141. Jimmy has a chance to write his own ending at NCAAs. Champions don't give up or feel sorry for themselves.....Jimmy will be fine if he has the heart of a champion, which I expect he does.
