Either Hagans needs to go, or you need two more receivers in the portal. ZERO catches by Penn State wide receivers. You cannot win the biggest games with this glaring deficiency.
Let this sink in: In an important, power five playoff game, Penn State completed zero passes to the wide receivers. I don't care if you have Tom Brady back there, you can not win this kind of game. This has to be the worst WR core I’ve ever seen. Might be the worst in power 5
Again it's a bad call but you are not winning this game until you put competitive wide receivers on the field. There is 1 constant in all of this: Big Game James and his 3-15 record when it matters. He always finds ways to lose. Why even call that play? You have piss poor field position and a qb who sucked all night. But that is Franklin for you.
It wasn’t a deficiency. The reason they lost the game is because they were still making high risk, ill fated passes downfield when they were blowing Notre Dame off the line of scrimmage, fooling them with misdirection and defeating their blitz with screens and flares. They didn’t need wideouts to win this game and even trying to use them lost it.Either Hagans needs to go, or you need two more receivers in the portal. ZERO catches by Penn State wide receivers. You cannot win the biggest games with this glaring deficiency.
Allar was horrible. We should have been up 14-0. And that was the worst decision I have ever seen at that point in the game. He's a choke artist. He's right up there with Shaffer against Oklahoma in 85 for putrid QB play.Either Hagans needs to go, or you need two more receivers in the portal. ZERO catches by Penn State wide receivers. You cannot win the biggest games with this glaring deficiency.
That was a bad throw but not why we lost. Also it was catchall but badAllar has to hit singleton on the early pass… cost team 4pts
That comment is laughable. Of course you need wide receivers to win important games. I have never heard ANYONE in football say you can win without wide receivers. It wasn’t a deficiency. He was 7-8 in the second half before the pick. ND is the best pass D in the country but okay...Allar was horrible. We should have been up 14-0. And that was the worst decision I have ever seen at that point in the game. He's a choke artist. He's right up there with Shaffer against Oklahoma in 85 for putrid QB play.
Singleton was also wide open on the interception. He could’ve taken the ball to midfield. Drew was trying to be the hero and cost the team the game.Allar has to hit singleton on the early pass… cost team 4pts
Lay off the Yuengling.Allar was horrible. We should have been up 14-0. And that was the worst decision I have ever seen at that point in the game. He's a choke artist. He's right up there with Shaffer against Oklahoma in 85 for putrid QB play.
Wide receivers made 8 catches for nearly 100 yards against Miami in 1986. And that was 1986, not 2024.Allar was horrible. We should have been up 14-0. And that was the worst decision I have ever seen at that point in the game. He's a choke artist. He's right up there with Shaffer against Oklahoma in 85 for putrid QB play.
How would any QB have success without a solid WRs?That comment is laughable. Of course you need wide receivers to win important games. I have never heard ANYONE in football say you can win without wide receivers.
That’s some high level analysis right there.Allar sucked and won’t ever win big games under Franklin. Had the game won twice and blew it.
That happens with young QBs that are Drew's level. They trust their arm too much. It's why you put them in position to succeed. We didn't todaySingleton was also wide open on the interception. He could’ve taken the ball to midfield. Drew was trying to be the hero and cost the team the game.
It is also true that WR corp is awful.
True. But they should have stayed with that instead of high risk fades in the end zone and down field passes across the middle.Allar has to hit singleton on the early pass… cost team 4pts
Agree but I'm going to say something controversial. Warren is a beast but at times the staff is too dependent on him and that hurts us. That next to last drive was easy for ND to sniff out. Warren could be a decoy for a pass to Reynolds. My guess is he would have a good chance of being open.Either Hagans needs to go, or you need two more receivers in the portal. ZERO catches by Penn State wide receivers. You cannot win the biggest games with this glaring deficiency.
Except he didn't call that play. Koltenicky called it and Allar choked on t the throw to a clearly covered player.. also he knee capped Singleton....on a walk in td on the first drive. So, he bookended game with bad decisions and throws..Also, .Franklin did not slip on the grass resulting in a gimme TD to ND.There is 1 constant in all of this: Big Game James and his 3-15 record when it matters. He always finds ways to lose. Why even call that play? You have piss poor field position and a qb who sucked all night. But that is Franklin for you.
And Singleton should have caught it anyway. It was at his knees, not at his toes.True. But they should have stayed with that instead of high risk fades in the end zone and down field passes across the middle.
Call it a night. They didn’t choke. They lost.Penn State choked that game more than ND won it
Our best QB since Collins...by far....clearly sucks lolTwo ducks that were intercepted in end zone bailed out by penalties
Missed a TD To Singleton
Missed check down all night
Bad Int
Allar came up small in a big moment again
Time to move on
Definitely a choke job, up 24-17 with minutes 4 left and lost on regulation is a choke job. Good nightCall it a night. They didn’t choke. They lost.
I thought the OC calls the plays. There is 1 constant in all of this: Big Game James and his 3-15 record when it matters. He always finds ways to lose. Why even call that play? You have piss poor field position and a qb who sucked all night. But that is Franklin for you.
Drew was terrible. Penn State was afraid to let him throw the ball and the announcers felt the same way.He was 7-8 in the second half before the pick. ND is the best pass D in the country but okay...
We lost because we up 24 points in the second half. That's not on Drew. Maybe 3 but not 21
Hey, Aikman, Manning and Brady have all had bad games. It happens. Two ducks that were intercepted in end zone bailed out by penalties
Missed a TD To Singleton
Missed check down all night
Bad Int
Allar came up small in a big moment again
Time to move on
They weren't afraid to let him throw. See the 4th & 1 pass. See us throwing at the end of the game.Drew was terrible. Penn State was afraid to let him throw the ball and the announcers felt the same way.
Lando. We agree more than we disagreeHe was 7-8 in the second half before the pick. ND is the best pass D in the country but okay...
We lost because we up 24 points in the second half. That's not on Drew. Maybe 3 but not 21
I've said he was bad tonight. Probably the worst he's played. That doesn't alter the game isn't solely on himLando. We agree more than we disagree
It’s ok to say Allar was bad. Real bad.
Cost 11 points. He missed him twice ( wide open). —Allar has improved a great deal since last year, but he sh*t the bed today. He continues to to throw while falling backwards…. He almost never steps into the throw. Until he fixes this, he will have problems.Allar has to hit singleton on the early pass… cost team 4pts
