Rumor has it that he will be the first to make his announcement and start collecting Social Security on the same day. :). Of course, with his social media savvy......he will be a multi-millionaire by then. Well played
Why don't you go to Blaze OP and wait for an announcement while chewing on your toenails. I am sure it's coming any day now.🤣😂

Basset may be taking officials with all the teams still remaining on his list. I know he had some scheduled into 2025. I think he may be putting the countdown on hold while he actually makes some of the tougher decisions.

Kudos to the kid, he obviously has wrestling figured out but also has a lot of other things figured out. I know I was looking forward to his emails on Wednesdays. Most of us had paper route type jobs at his age. He has NIL and stacking his retirement as a young kid.

I think we get him at PSU but couldn’t imagine other programs going all in on him knowing not only a great wrestler but he could chance their entire program & image. I think he would instantly add fans and future recruits.
I think Blaze is a slightly better wrestler, but Bassett brings so much to a program.
He reminds me of a young David Taylor and I am sure DT is trying to use that comparison when talking with him.

Blaze is good, but Basset will add eyeballs similar to Mesenbrink. As much as I like to watch Beau Barlett wrestles and win, Mesenbrink is a "can't miss" event. You don't even want to go and grab a beer from a fridge during his match or else you'll risk missing something.

Basset can't win. People are crying about his elimination list, now people are crying about him not announcing his elimination. Unbelievable.

Always been a fan of his list, anything to get more hype and eyes on wrestling. He said every Wednesday he would announce an elimination but if not, any updates of his current thought process for the fans would be nice :(

Didn't mean to get down on you. It's just the people who whines and cries about Bo's list/process and wishing him go somewhere else other than PSU has muddied the good and true faithful Penn State wrestling fans.

I think Bassett is fantastic and I hope we get him, but IMO, when the dust settles Blaze will have a stronger NCAA and beyond career.

Blaze Could be the better wrestler and have a stronger NCAA and beyond but IMO Basset will be the more Impactful wrestler to whichever program he goes into. More eyes on that program w his social media and wrestlers will want to follow him.. kinda reminds me of DT or a Spencer.. has an aura w him.. bunch of PA kids went to Iowa when they saw Spencer did.. that’s the kinda aura Basset has imo.

I wouldnt say blaze would have a better career in college. I think bo does folk better and goes for bonus. Like to see them both at PSU. But at least one. Bo most definitely.

No kidding. Especially when your wife has relegated your beer in the basement fridge.

This has been thrown out by many that Blaze will have a better career than Basset. Not trying to pick side here as I would like to get both. But by what metric is being used here to justify this talking point? Wins? Bonus points? Pins? Points scored in the NCAA/Big 10? Championships? Hodge?

Clearly just wins. Because there's no way he comes close to the bonus points that Bassett is going to put up.

From what we've seen, Basset is a bonus point producer. But is "wins" enough to say Blaze will have a stronger NCAA career and beyond? What if Basset and Blaze have similar win total? Yanni has four titles, but I would take Nolf, Nichal, Retherford, Taylor any day of the week (not because they were former Lions) because their wins were dominant and, don't forget, exciting. To have a stronger career, I think many factors should be included, not just wins for that justification.

Again, I hope we get both. But for Blaze, I do hope he is not gun shy like Barlett offensively. I know that may be a bit unfair because we don't know what he will do in college. So I will just end it there.

I would say this is true for everywhere but PSU. We have a pretty solid culture intact. The only thing that could upset that is NIL and young wrestlers making bank over the older guys. But Coach Cael is pretty adamant about not letting that happen.

Agreed but even then, that concern is probably limited to common items like the NIL collective.

IMO if guys work to generate NIL like RBY did, their teammates will be happy for them.

Bassett is more fun against a can, Blaze is more fun against a top level FS guy. Jax is most fun of the three IMO tho
This made me laugh out loud, a can.

I would say all these of these guys had big wins over some good guys.
Bassett and Forest score huge bonus points. Blaze wins close matches against senior level guys and age level guys in Freestyle.
Folkstyle is different. Blaze has one Ironman title and zero super 32 titles. Is this cause it’s Folkstyle?
I personally want all three but we want point scorers.

This is what I mean. Plus add in FS is different than Folkstyle. Blaze is the best FS followed by Bassett and Forest but I would say Bassett is the best Folkstyle out of the three

I want guys who score points for the team at nationals. Whether that is 3-1 in OT or a tech fall. The important thing imho is consistency. I want guys who consistently produce quality outings. That sustains itself in tournaments. I hate the tech fall followed by a mysterious 4-2 loss to an unranked guy followed by a pin.

The argument could be made but does that really describe Bo? He loses almost never, seems to always avenge those loses and never just loses to people that aren't elite.

Some Marcus Blaze facts taken from an Ohio State board:

" 1) He has bonus points in every D1 state match he has wrestled.
2) He has never lost to an Ohio opponent
3) He has never given up an offensive point, in his entire IN SEASON high school career. Not even in his two losses. He lost on escapes and a penalty point.
4) Fargo Champ over a field that included other world champs Bassett and Raney, current #1 national ranked Knox, and #1 Jax Forrest.
5) Cadet World Champion
6) Olympic team member (top 3 at trials)
7) Junior World Team - Bronze
8 Senior WTT Finalist
9) Beat 3 former D1 NCAA Champs and 2 other NCAA finalists
10) in the same calendar year, beat #1 ranked Lilledahl, #1 ranked Knox, and #1 ranked Forrest."
