Yeah… about that. DT is a cut weight guy. He cut a ton his entire career. Youth, high school, college, international.
Only time he ever didn’t really cut was his initial ascent to 86.
I would have thought the same, that DT would be more inclined to let guys go up, but that is not his bag. Not yet, at least.
Both Hughes and Tagen wanted to go up last year, and I will DIE on the hill that that would have yielded more points at NCAAs. But DT didn’t give them the option. (Even after tagen beat Hughes in a wrestle off)
He believes there’s a science to it and if you do it the right way, you’ll be fine. He’s asking for a level of professionalism that some guys just aren’t on board with yet.
