Bring on Oregon

On the one hand, you always want to win and you want to be at the top. You want to play the best and beat the best.

On the other hand, it's likely disadvantageous for us to make the Big 10 CCG.

If we win, we're the #1 or #2 seed in the playoff ... we get a bye (just like we would have gotten if we hadn't made the CCG, by not playing that weekend), but we may end up with an SEC squad in the 2nd round, and we don't get to host a game.

If we lose, we're probably back around where we are now, seeding-wise and we don't get a weekend off, but we get to host a playoff game.

Compare to not making the CCG, where we get to host a playoff game, get the "bye" week (the CCG weekend), and probably get a decent matchup in the 2nd round.

We'll be fine. We are underrated by America and ESPN.

I figure if you want to play for a championship you shouldn’t try to avoid teams or games. As long as the conference’s have championship games the better teams in each conference will have to play in them. Just win.

They won't though--see Texas who, like OSU, can lose today and avoid that--while maybe still getting a home game

Specifically talking about some talking heads who are bashing us and ESPN's FPI ratings.
FPI has us 4th in SOR which is all that matters--they have Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State and Texas as the top 5 teams--we'll see how far Ohio State fans
People get mad about FPI because they focus on PI--see Oregon--that's "ranking" isn't meaningful

Was running through an Allstate playoff predictor using ESPN analytics - even if we beat Oregon to be the one seed it didn't have us winning once. It had Tennessee, which hasn't beaten us since 1972, beating us in one scenario.

And I've done it several times with us as the 6 seed and they had us getting to the SF. It's all about matchups not seeds

Watch the first quarter again
You're miserable. We made the college football playoffs and NOBODY wanted that to not happen more than you psycho.

Which is why you keep harping on Franklin "needing one playoff win" in order for it to be called a successful season.

It's officially a successful season. Penn State has made the college football playoffs for the very first time, and you can eat that shit for the rest of the way loser

What are you talking about?
I said 11-1 all year and I'm one of about 6 people here that don't flip out early
We started slow today. Fact not opinion
Successful is winning in the playoff. We met expectations so far.

Successful is making the playoffs. Clemson didn't and Alabama needs a Syracuse miracle

If Miami loses and Clemson beats SMU they're in still--you realize that
Bama doesn't need a miracle--they just need Syracuse to hang on and SMU to beat Clemson--or a USC comeback

11-1 and making the Big championship game is successful, no matter what anyone says.

If Alabama gets in they won't be the 12 though. They'll get the 11

Getting to the playoffs is merely the first goal--if we're the 1 or 5 seed and lose our first game it's not a success. Have to win a playoff game--then it's all gravy

Your words were 'opening half'.

31-7
At that point of the half we were playing slow--look at the time of the post--we have a tendency (as the post says) to play slow in the first half
Thankfully we stepped up but if you would follow things in real time we wouldn't have these issues
