In his introductory PC, CJF emphasized that he was intensely loyal to his assistant coaches.

He cannot let that loyalty color his career. He is going to have to pull the trigger on Donovan and maybe Hand..

He should do that sooner rather than later, for his own good.

It could be that he knows that very well. It could be that this is one of the reasons that he brought a consultant on board....somebody who has experience pulling the trigger.

The loss today is being called historic. And, I don't know if there has ever been a game in the past when former players have been this vocal about what they think the problem is with the PSU football team.

He has to make a move. But, will he?

Really? It was more "historic" than PSU's loss to a crappy Indiana team that ultimately went 5-7 in 2013??? PSU was down 42-17 before Indiana gave up a late meaningless score at the end of the game. I'm confused was that loss more "historic" than PSU getting absolutely blown out in it's only loss ever to Indiana (PSU is 17-1 versus Indiana with the 2013 pasting being the only time Indiana has beaten PSU in its history)???

I'm more concerned that we lost to the Temple Owls on this Saturday in 2015 the way that we did.

I was sitting in the stands at that Indiana game, btw.

Didn't bother me all that much, though. We got outcoached that day as well. But, it was, after all, 2013.

The tweets were interesting to me. I don't ever remember former players being so vocal after losses before. If there's any truth to the claim he's playing his favorites (his recruits) over others who are performing better then there's going to be real trouble with team chemistry that will cause issues this year (and in the future).

As far as the coaches go- Donovan was on very thin ice last year and likely should have been replaced. The fact he's back with this pathetic performance is maddening. Hand has not done a good job and the 2 of them have not tailored the offense play calling to try to limit some of the O line deficiencies and they certainly don't adjust well (if at all) during games. This was true last year as well. Something has to be done or Franklin will lose the fan base.

You're the one who said it was "historic" - Temple appears to be a far better team than that 2013 Indiana team, especially on Defense. Temple is returning virtually their entire team. In any event, you're the party that claimed it was "historic", but now you don't want to talk about losses that were easily just as bad and probably worse (e.g., Temple may still prove to be a far better team than 2013 Indiana which proved to be a bad team that not only beat us for the first time in 18 tries, but utterly blew us out with an awful team).

I said it was being called historic. Not only that, it was part of my concluding paragraph. Not my main point at all.

I suggest you look at the front page, and then carry on your discussion with Tom and his staff.

What I want to discuss is whether it is time to make some coaching changes.

actually I think JF is pretty loyal to upper classmen who he did NOT recruit. many coaches would have cleaned out the OL and started from scratch. many of these guys are 3-4 years in the program. some coaches would just put in their new recruits and clean house - especially if they think we are going to lose anyway.
