Clarifications from 1st time poster and UM fan

I don't do frame by frame Zapruder searches for blown calls like you guys. Maybe you could hire someone like Mueller to look into this after he is done with Trump.

Refs have cost us games vs Nebraska and Ohio State. But I don't believe that was due to "bias". Refs are human and can have a bad day. If you want to still be upset about a ref call from 2005, hey, whatever makes you happy.

We don't have to do Zapruder searches either since there are examples all over the place. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one.

Don’t have to do a frame by frame search....they’re so blatantly bad they stick out like a sore thumb. That’s exactly my point, these are egregiously bad calls, not just “missed” calls. Get a number of those against your team and what else other than conspiracy explains it?

Please point to one really bad call that cost Michigan against PSU....and I don’t mean a missed hold or a perceived missed PI call....I mean a blatantly bad call in the history of the series. PSU can point to a few against Michigan and OSU, but neither Michigan or OSU can point to a single one. Weird how in these series the “refs sometimes blow calls” all go against the same team....you would think over the course of 25 years they would even out if there wasn’t a bias going on...or even one would go PSU’s way.

You are way overplaying your sanctions. It hurt your depth when BB was on board. But any effects are long since past.

Look at the recruiting class with which Harbaugh was left (2015, Hoke's last class). Penn St. 14th, Michigan 37th. How is that a "full cupboard"?

The cumulative ranking of Michigan's recruiting class rankings when Harbaugh took over was around #11.

Michigan logic:

Coach they don’t like- “Can’t win with all that talent”
Coach they do like- “He inherited a bare cupboard and needs to rebuild”
Lmfao. I'm little surprised by some of u psu fans. These kind of posts and the conspiracy theories. Just wow.

What kind of post is that? Michigan fans wanted Hoke out because he couldn’t win with all the talent he had. Now we’re hearing Harbaugh had to rebuild because Hoke left him with nothing. Can’t have it both ways. Hoke was a lot of things but a bad recruiter wasn’t one of them....which means Harbaugh didn’t inherit a bare cupboard and certainly didn’t have to rebuild despite the record the year before he took over.

Cupboard was not full.

Harbaugh inherited a 5-7 team. Franklin inherited a 7-5 team.

Harbaugh isn't great against the top 3 East division opponents either. He is only .400. But that is a lot better than .214.
Are you really that thick in not knowing the difference between having a bad record and being subjected to a Death Penalty-esque sanctions? Well, you do choose to live in Michigan...

Love the rivalry. Love the hype. 2 ranked teams. Anything can happen.

But to make sure we are all on the same page about the past:

Big 10 Championship vs 3rd place: not really a coaching issue but rather a Big 10 tie breaker rule. Both teams had the same record. UM beat both PSU and Wisconsin (at Wisconsin) that year (which was the Championship game) Difference between um and psu wasn’t record or head-to-head - it was UM lost at Iowa, PSU lost to Pitt. So it was in conference vs. out-of-conference that made the difference.

Running up the score: running to the line of scrimmage to get off a play with under a minute left when up by 100 is different then throwing a pass when up by 100 with 8 minutes left. If you don’t see that, then you are a fan of your team but not a football fan.
Michigan, the supposed leaders and best, have not won the B1G since 2003.No amount of twisting and spinning will change that.

Nope. McCaffrey (#5 pro style QB of 2017) could have started this year. Some think he has more upside than Patterson.

NauticalOddCicada-max-1mb.gif
Then why go get Patterson? Why work to have his sit out year waived? Why should any quarterback commit to Jimmy, when he ends up stabbing them in the back

Having a 4* come in and a 4* with years under hoke are quite different. If u think Harbaugh took over a stacked team, I question ur football iq.

Um, because it is better to have two good QBs who can play than just one?
Umm, you still have Brandon Peters, the late season hero from last year. Admit it, Jimmy felt pressure to win this season, so he went and got an experienced quarterback. Futzing Michigan Men can never admit desperation.

Wow. Peters is the 4th string. Hes behind a true freshman. The knock on him is he doesnt put in the time off the field. Even when he got to play last year, They had to dummy down the playbook

"Late season hero"? Where did you read that?

If desperation equals a spot in the playoff, then BRING ON DESPERATION.

Who recruited all these players?

The 11 draft picks surpass the University of Michigan football team's previous record of 10, which was set in both 1972 and 1974 seasons. Nine of this year's selections came in the first four rounds, setting another program record.

• This year's figure led all schools and stands as the 12th most in draft history and is the third-highest total since the draft was reduced to seven rounds.

2017 NFL Draft
Rd. 1 - Jabrill Peppers, S/LB, Cleveland Browns (25)
Rd. 1 - Taco Charlton, DE, Dallas Cowboys (28)
Rd. 3 - Chris Wormley, DE, Baltimore Ravens (74)
Rd. 3 - Jourdan Lewis, CB, Dallas Cowboys (92)
Rd. 3 - Delano Hill, S, Seattle Seahawks (95)
Rd. 3 - Amara Darboh, WR, Seattle Seahawks (106)
Rd. 4 - Ben Gedeon, LB, Minnesota Vikings (120)

But, but, but....um....they didn’t get good until they played under Harbaugh....yeah, that’s the ticket.

If you think the cupboard was bare then the last thing you should talk about is football IQ.

No one wrote "the cupboard was bare". The cupboard was not full. The five previous signing classes before Harbaugh's first in 2016 averaged 19th in the country. Not terrible, but not "full" either. His first team ended up ranked 12th in the county.

And if Harbaugh didn't improve all those players who were drafted, then why did all that NFL talent go 5-7 the year before he arrived?

The three PSU classes before Franklin's first were ranked #35, #52, and #43 on Rivals. And that doesn't include the talented players that transferred out. So what was our cupboard if Michigan's wasn't "full"?

It was a 7-5 BOB cupboard. Not great either, but already developed better than Hoke's.

Of all the idiotic Michigan thoughts from this week, this one takes the cake. Why are you still here dude? You've been destroyed repeatedly and keep spouting ignorance over and over.

Why don't you stop bothering people?
