So...you coaching a team and you and I are picking Olineman. On the field are the 15 o-lineman from Bama, Clemson, and PSU. At what number do you pick a PSU guy? I am not picking a PSU guy till #11.

OK....So you would pick McGovern over all the O lineman in last nites game? Any other PSU guys make the top ten? I just cringe thinking Menet with #92 from Bama as the guy he has to block...ugh...game, set, match

I would probably go with a tackle to protect the QB's blindside first. But he would be one of my first choices for a guard.

I don’t think Clemson’s line in particular has a bunch of NFL studs. They do have depth so they don’t play until they’re ready. The offensive scheme is also makes then look good. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall any high draft picks from the Clemson Oline in recent years.

Bama is a different story.

I don't care what school they went to. I watch film, consider his motivation, take his measurables and pick from there

Mel Kiper has Connor McGovern as the #1 Guard on his board. Do they really have 10 Olineman better than the potential #1 Guard and potential first round pick?

It's an honest question, and I know nothing about their O-lineman. Mel Kiper is usually well connected, and so I think his opinion carries some weight.

I don't care what Mel Kiper says. I'm willing to bet I've seen a lot more of McGovern's games than Mel.
Connor is not the #1 Guard coming out.

The NFL takes the guys that are flexible because they can only carry so many OL on that roster. You see OG's flex to OT all the time in the NFL when someone goes down.

I can see Pats taking Bates in late 3rd or 4th. LG is entering the final year of his contract(Thuney). Already have a lot of money
locked up in RG(Shaq Mason).

Off topic, but not one hold called last night with those two great defensive lines.. lots of points too. Big Ten refs did their thing.. Clemson d-line eventually got through but I wonder how many holds a decent crew of refs would've called.

Actually I kinda liked it. There were some PIs and push offs they let go as well and it made the game much better because there weren’t so damn many stoppages because of ticky tack stuff. As long as it’s consistent on both sides.

I liked it to I think last nights game had a very good flow to it and it was alot better to watch without all the flags flying everywhere. It was a field filled with very good athletes and they let them play it out.

I agree and was surprised. ...... There was a pretty obvious targeting call missed early, anyone recall what Alabama player that would have been on? Didn't matter, just curious

Just take a look at our rushing stats against both OSU/Mich, not counting McSorley's scrambling yards against the Buckeyes. Blame it on the scheme, OL Coach, or whatever excuse, it is pathetic. The OL from Bama and Clemson would double those stats at minimum.

The linemen who impressed me were the Clemson defensive linemen. They beat Bama's o-line straight up, all game long.
