Corley fired

Creating animosity in the workplace because someone doesn't have anywhere else to go usually isnt a recipe for success.
well at that point, it comes down to who you value more. IF RR makes a stink,he can go find a $500k job elsewhere.

Pinegar was just a true freshman. A lot can change between his frosh and soph seasons. It’s too early to write off a freshman.
+1
Davis [edit: sorry. I meant Ficken] had a rough freshman run as well.

I don't disagree, but if that's the direction you want to go you're probably just better off releasing him.

They should hire Jay so that he can identify some players who can catch and send them over to the wr group. Then he can produce some all big 10 qb's to make everyone else look better. I wonder what he's doing these days...

Hopefully Galiano and Limegrover. I am sick of seeing a mediocre offensive line at Penn State. Get someone in there who knows how to turn boys with potential into aggressive men. The crap we've been seeing just isn't cutting it. Sorry.

Limegrover absolutely needs to come next. He's had 3 years and numerous 4 star recruits to work with, and the line is average at best. PSU can do better than a Minnesota castoff.

Hard for us to know whether it’s limegrover or RR or both, or if they just need to get better together since it’s only been a year. But given the talent, the OL wasn’t as consistent as expected. Sometimes good or great, but not consistently either especially in running game. Seemed good in passing game but then...

I think the changes will be Corley and Galliano. I think Pinegar will be beat out for PK duties. Jan Johnson is an interesting one. If they can land a good player that needs the ship prior to second signing day he may be gone. Though he would be a ST demon and deep MLB backup so has some value. Brooks looks ready to me.
Is rather go with Brooks backed up by Luketa or Smith. More upside

I'm still not sure how any coach at this level coaches players to catch the ball but between the drops and the inability for the WRs to get open, this group was a fail and a change had to be made. You can't "fire" all the players so you have to fire the coach. Good luck to him.
Obviously there was a coaching issue. Franklin doesn’t fire coaches without good reason

We definitely didn’t get the production out of WRs we expected. That said, Corley wasn’t hired initially to coach the WRs. He was brought in to coach RBs, but then was moved once we got Seider. Good luck to him. Too bad it didn’t work out.
Right. This was his first time really dealing with WRs in a serious pass offense. I feel for the guy. He may have been great as a RB coach but Seider opens up Florida and seems proven goods as a RB coach. Did he take a chance by staying? Did he play the good soldier? Was it a bad fit? Who knows. But the WR performance wasn’t close to what it needs to be. I expect if he was the good soldier, CJF will do right by him.

Who decided to burn Justin Shorter red shirt? That had to be the Head Coach's call. they should of held him out of the Maryland game IMO. just another example of poor decision with the WR's

He played in 5 games?

Kudos to coach for making swift, hard decisions. We don't know what goes on in the coaches room but I much more fear lack of action than over action.

It's a lot about predictable route running and making consistent reads with the QB. As fans, we have no idea who took the wrong route.

I always feel that Franklin is obsessed with winning a national championship and he will do what it takes even if it seems he might not

Pretty sure Shorter’s only played in 4 games. Only Oweh would have burned his redshirt if he played yesterday.

I believe Shorter kept his redshirt. Also, was JJ hurt? Shorter was in the game at the end instead of JJ. After not playing most of the year that was a huge statement. Where was #12 and #81 yesterday? And did Luketa play? I do not recall seeing him.

Limegrover seems involved with recruiting and appears to have a good personality. The fact that they are recruiting good linemen is important and partly attributed to him but we would all like to see more improvement as a group.

I never saw Corley involved in recruiting, at press conferences, etc. And Franklin's comment at a pre Bowl interview about the questionable fit made it clear Corley was gone. Galiano has to go as well. I would love a WR coach who could also serve as an Assistant game manager/OC. Someone with Moxie.
