Cornell has shut down Ithaca campus due to COVID outbreak.. all finals online and from what I am reading.. all athletics cancelled.. Not sure how that impacts the duals upcoming..?

Cornell University contains seven undergraduate colleges plus the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Law School, the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City and Doha, Qatar, and the 93 fields of study in the Graduate School.
The actual letter that the President sent doesn't make it sound like all athletic events are canceled, just the ones on Sunday. CNN article reads like EVERYTHING is canceled.

There is a section on travel away from campus, but a lot of hoops to jump through, and I can’t imagine they’d sanction team participation in a contact sport tournament.

Hey Goggles, in all seriousness, I think the terms “woke”, “libtards”, etc., are words of war. They are words to demonize and dehumanize an amorphous, mythical “other side”. We helped our soldiers use words of war in wars, when we wanted soldiers to stop thinking and just fight and kill.

An unvaccinated young, healthy friend died of covid and another friend said "That was his choice." He left a young daughter behind because his side decided that Dr. Fauci and not covid is the enemy and now she won't remember having a father. Dealing with these morons is getting old, another 1,598 needlessly died today.
Cornell says they've 469 positives all have been vaccinated and some have had boosters. Looking more and more like vaccine isnt do much to the new strain
Did you ask why the young friend refrained from the vaccination? What was his reason? My condolences to the family, especially the daughter.
Not preventing transmission of the new strain as much, but does seem to have reduced symptoms, severity and hospitalizations. Early indications, full vaccination including the booster is considerably more effective than not having them. Yet, not a cure nor 100% preventing contracting the virus.
Early studies also show that previous infections with Alpha, Beta, or Delta provide zero protection against re-infection. Vaccinations provide reduced protection, and boosters provide a lot of protection. So much for the benefits of "natural immunity."

I'm sitting at home sick with covid after being vaxxed and boosted. And I was really sick. But stayed out of the hospital just so I could make sure I watched the Florida Duals.
There are no certain answers because we do not understand viruses. You can die from the shot, from Covid complications (especially with certain preexisting conditions), and you can also live in both situations. To me it seems to make sense that if people who are getting the shot are also getting the virus, then it is something we have to live with.
The people who are not getting the vaccine have let everyone know where they stand on the issue and are willing to take their chances. If the vaccine actually reduces the severity ( which I have no way of knowing if it is true or not) then lets get back to living our lives. If Covid is just a common cold to those who have the vaccine and the boosters, and it h as little to no effect on the young, then it seems like we should be good to move on.
Personally, I am not sure anyone can convince me that natural immunity is not the best remedy. But, not everyone is willing to take that chance. Let the people choose and let's move on with life.
