My mother was vaxxed and boosted but had a rough 4 weeks back this fall. She called off an ambulance ride at one point as she wanted to die at home and not at hospital. Her choice and lucky for her/us that wasn't an end result.
I don't think she would have made it had she not had the vaxx.
One of my best buds, his father in law, a crazy anti vaxxer passed 2 weeks ago from covid. His last two weeks on this earth were spent on a ventilator and seemingly alone. His wife also an anti vaxxer too...... Is now vaxxed.
For older folks seems silly not to get the jab. Though for young folks and women/girls specifically I'm hesitant to be as judgemental of.
One night I counted and 33 people I know well got covid and it's probably in the 100s of people that I know of through sports and work.
I live in Montgomery Co MD and we are one of the most vaxxed counties in the nation. We have all public schools masked and still have mask mandates in our stores.
There are a lot of questions I have but for me getting the jab isn't one of them
I am in Colorado Springs. Process varies by district. Last year my kids’ school was open in-person from start to finish. Kids wore masks going into the buildings and in the halls (for whatever that was worth). Teachers were masked all day. If someone in a class was a positive or a close contact of a positive, the class went out 10 calendar days. My oldest missed three days and middle kid missed four due to fortunate timing. This year nobody wears masks unless they want to, so 99.9% do not. To-date no severe illnesses. Did my kids get it? Don’t know. The few times they were sick looked like every other time they were sick in the past. I am a big proponent of the choices being made at local level. I don’t care what anybody does. I don’t like the notion that there is a one size fits all solution.
Damn, I knew your presence here was down for a bit, and I figured it might just be because of that phone issue you mentioned. I had no idea — I’m so glad to hear she came through.
Yup. And I would get it (vax) again in a heartbeat. I’m 40 and pretty healthy but it was bad for a day the first time. No doubt, it was bad for a day. But I got better very quickly. Second time was like a light cold and it’s been easy to have.
I just wonder when we move on from it. People are getting it or not, the vax. Or getting immunity through getting it.
That whole phone thing...such a stupid story.
A big storm washed out my driveway and I had to rent a back hoe to dig out a pipe I wanted to put in. During the work my phone fell out of the cup holder and I ran the phone over. Otter boxes are a savior. A complete miracle for dopes and construction folks like myself. But even the otter box couldn't save this.
So after getting ridiculed by my family, I get the new phone. Try to log into this site and nothing. A whole ordeal with internet customer service to get them to recognize this new phone. I mean really come on....I was about to just say F it. But my subscription is paid and frankly this site can be a real drug.

The same data show that those with infections *and* vaccinations have a significant antibody response to Omicron:
A study over the weekend showed that neutralizing antibodies among people previously infected with Alpha (panel E), Beta (panel F), and Delta (panel G) completely failed to attach to Omicron. Those that were infected + vaccinated (or vaccinated + infected) had a strong response to Omicron (panel H).
Ive been jabbed three times work around people who have covid everyday in the prison system and other high risk clients. Both my twins had it as well. I've had nothing and there's no way I didn't come in contact with covid. It's different for everyone. I think how I take care of myself plays a part in fighting it off. Just my opinion
I agree that if you are older and/or have some of the dangerous preexisting conditions, getting the jab is a good idea.

I think what's he saying is that we need to get back to compromise and respect that's the point and I agree.
That only works if both sides are willing to do it. Will not work if one side is intent on eliminating the opposition.
What's funny if people actually knew about our political system they would realize one party can't survive without the other. They both want each other they just want more numbers meaning more power lol.
