So a flip is actually a possibility. Of one of the "big" recruits. Huge fan of DT and RBY. Saying that because, pretty sure it came from the athlete, not DT poaching.

good point. I more mean what he has said about it being his dream school his whole life and that him and Luke talked about how they would make it work weight wise for both of them to get into the lineup
I think from some other related posts he’s made is that we lost a GOAT like His Lordship and, in the end, it didn’t really hurt us. So, in essence, regardless of who we lose, we’ll survive.
If that was the angle of the post, I can understand, but losing a lightweight to Iowa without much else behind it, is a little different than losing a top recruit to the hot, new coach with big money and big momentum behind him.
I don’t think he knows who we may be losing, if anyone - just that, regardless, Cael will still thrive. @Pennstate1985 - am I catching your drift?
Maybe we are losing 1 big recruit (Perry) because he got word PSU was getting another big recruit (Blaze).

Perry is the only one I can think of that might make sense. He’s obviously close with DT but doesn’t he have a parent that works at PSU so his tuition would be next to nothing? What other recruits are there? Desmond, Duke, and Henckel. Duke has been shot down thankfully. Henckel maybe especially with the logjam at his weight but not sure about his tie to RBY. As long as it’s no one from this incoming class or Duke I’m ok. I’m still waiting on Blazes commitment to PSU which will really make this potential flip even less of a big deal

I said earlier in the thread that Henckel would be most likely to flip but now that I think on it more, I'm thinking Perry although I think Willie is trying to tell us to chill and quit wasting our time on this. I could see Perry following DT. He was one of DT golden boys. I could also see Desmond going too. He would have trouble starting there too, plus his mom doesn’t work there.
Didn't Perry announce his commitment to PSU when he was in 9th grade? Clearly not official but I clearly remember him stating that was his dream school and he was telling everyone to not bother recruiting him. Full disclosure......"clearly remember" at my age (and on my 3rd Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA) is always suspect.
It definitely could go a few directions but I wouldn’t say anything… they don’t pump stuff up very often. It’s definitely something big. Only so many opportunities for big news imo. Blaze announcement.. A big flip…. DT registering at 92 etc.

My wishful logic. Everyone says this kid is very serious, reserved and shy, and wants to stay reasonably close to home. He’s from Northern Ohio, sure, but it’s an easy drive to Centre County. He just spent more than a week in close contact with two of the program’s most serious and humble servants - Nick Lee and Casey, and 4 of our young guns. You couldn’t ask for a better representation of our program on and off the mat.
And it definitely is time for him to pull the trigger

The reality is the odds of this being unrelated to a flip or commitment was always the most likely outcome (and it was just coincidence). Will be an interesting next few months IMO.
PS I hope the league somehow takes off but the giant pessimistic in me says this kind of thing always fizzles out.
