Yeah, pull back on the reins a bit there cowboys. Yes on some of that. No on all of that.
This was always how the domination was going to start to deteriorate. The apprentice rockstars branching out and by default attracting kids that would have gone to PSU. We will probably never again see the amount of wrestling talent concentrated in one place. From the freshman up to the NLWC roster and coaching staff.
This will make OKSU the favorites for 2nd place for years to come but I seriously doubt top talent will want to go to Stillwater when Cael and PSU come calling. If you have a chance to learn drums from Neal Peart or Alex Van Halen you're going with Neil but Van Halen is an unbelievably great 2nd choice.
As a fan and former wrestler, my top priority with regards to any big event such as we saw today is whatever is best for strengthening and growing the sport. I believe that this move by OSU and DT will be positive for college wrestling. I’ll still be rabidly rooting for PSU, but any time a deal is on the table that will make the competition more exciting, I’ll support it.
Just change it to N2 - Nolf and Nickal! I think the guys who are training there will be completely satisfied.

I was told 2 weeks ago that M2 would be moving to a new location.
The room depth will probably be impacted the most. Taylor is every bit the drawl Cael was just not in the same talent area. But the advantage Taylor has is his Oh & Pa connections. The first two years of his coaching career could net him the top 2 recruits in the country.

Without a perennial top 2 team Iowa has typically finished at least 2 spots behind PSU's championship teams. With Taylor at a program every bit as blue blood as Iowa, Iowa is looking at a regular 4th place or below finish.

Dake to Ohio State is interesting, but I have to believe they wait one more cycle and hire Snyder. Kellie Grey keeps sending Megan Dake news flyers depicting the deteriorating schools and neighborhoods surrounding Ithaca NY.
I have a bridge to sell you my friend if you think DT wouldn't do that. He has new loyalties and his commitment is maximizing Oklahoma State.

OK State just became my 2nd favorite program. I'll be rooting for the pokes except when they face PSU.
Not worried in the least about it affecting us - Cael takes care of business by doing what makes PSU successful, not by worrying about the competition. There are plenty of great wrestlers out there that don't wrestle for PSU and now OK State will get more of them. All good.

While I didn't think it would happen, I could certainly imagine DT to OSU once he lost at OTT. The timing of Smith's retirement was just right for this to fall into place. Even then it would not have worked out except for a certain booster stepping up to underwrite everything. And I mean everything.
I think Iowa will be most negatively impacted by this hire. They are already struggling on the recruiting side and now have another marquee coach talking to recruits.
As for PSU, the PSU-M2 axis was sweet while it lasted, but let's remember that there was success before M2, and there will be success with M2 after DT goes.
