Delany at B1G Championship

Isn't that showing BLATANT favoritism towards one school over another in the conference? Is that grounds for dismissal for a conference commissioner?

If Delany said what Klatt claims, combined with the conference inaction against other schools ( particularly MSU ) it would seem PSU could make a very strong case behind closed doors for getting rid of Delany.
The case Penn State should make is not to get rid of Delany, but rather to get out of the Big Ten without any negative financial ramifications. It is apparent that Penn State will never be treated as anything but an adjunct member of this conference. Penn State should take its high television ratings to a conference where it is appreciated.

Well, when all 14 university presidents stop laughing long enough to vote, I'd guess the tally would be 13-0 (1 abstention) to keep Delaney. We all know who would likely abstain. This conference has been showing blatant favoritism since inviting Penn State in late 1989.

F that, though it would be nice to kill off Delany. I just want the money back

I hate to bring this up, but it is the B1G Presidents who run the conference. And you know who our President reports to, right? So if you think something is gonna' change anytime soon, think again.

Sorry, Option Bob, I just saw your post but figured I'd just leave mine in support of yours.

Big managed to pull Maryland and Rutgers. Let them have them......we need to GTFO. Fvck this conference.

Our impotent leadership will be right on this to defend the university.

If crap like this is true, THIS is what could make James Franklin leave for another school. He might say that the conference commissioner has a predisposition against Penn State and that the school's leadership will do nothing to stand up to him so it doesn't matter what he does to build up the program, he can't win a championship here.
That’s exactly what Delany wants Franklin to do.

Our own comish was throwing up excuses as to why the conference champ shouldn't be in the playoffs..... unreal.
It came back to bite him in the ass in 2017 when the same situation occurred. He couldn't lobby for OSU without revealing his bias.

Jim Delaney is 70 years old and will not be the B1G commissioner forever. It is unlikely that he will be around for more than the next 5 years, while I truly expect Franklin to remain at Penn State for a long time. If he were to leave, I doubt the reasons will be Delaney, but will relate to issues at Penn State like salary, conditions of employment and/or family issues.

On a personal note, I cheered when Penn State fans booed him at the trophy ceremony after the 2016 B1G championship game.

Even if our leadership isn't willing to do something about the uneven playing field, I think Franklin will. He works way too hard at building this program to stand by for this crap.

Sorry, but Franklin, as much has he might like to, can't do anything about it except leave.

The big has been nothing but assholes from day 1, time to move on we don’t need them
There comes a time when sacrificing a little money is worth it. However, the assholes that run the University are about nothing but. Won't happen, unfortunately.

And Jim claimed he couldn't understand why. Oh, he knew.

Joel Klatt was on Outkick the Coverage this morning. At around the 1 hour mark Travis and Klatt were discussing the B1G egg laid this weekend. Klatt was explaining his rationale as to why he thinks Wisky has no chance getting into the final 4 if they win out and win the conference championship. He called the 2016 B1G championship against Wisky. He said that the week prior to PSU v. Wisky, he had argued that if PSU won, then PSU should've gotten a shot at the final 4.

He then said that while he was presenting the trophy to Franklin, Delany had come up to him and intimated that he disagreed with Klatt's position that PSU should get in.

If true (and why would Klatt tell that story?), the fact that Delany would say this to Klatt at that time and in that moment is just crazy and disrespectful.
By not endorsing the Big10 champion as the proper Big10 representative in the CFP, Delany effectively devalued the worth of a Big10 championship.
So last year with Ohio State having 2 losses Delaney was left with no argument as to why Ohio State was deserving a place in the CFP. After all, Delaney was only a year removed from publicly stating the value of a Big10 championship in the college football world means nothing at all. This proclamation by the Big10 commissioner made it a simple process to take the SEC champion and a SEC also ran who had lost their last game of the year, fairly decisively.

You will never see the SEC commissioner belittle a SEC championship.

Go watch Gameday the morning of the Big Ten Championship game- it was a joke how biased he was for OSU or Wisky to get in the playoff and not PSU.

The only card he has is to let Barbour know that he's unhappy, very unhappy, about the way the program is being treated and hope that she does something. That may get her off her fat ass.

Sandy does what she is told to do, period. Our leaders aren't about to start sticking up for us now, and not for this. This is bad, but we've been pissed on by people in a far worse manner than this, and they haven't said a word. They shall forever remain spineless.

If Franklin expresses displeasure, I would expect her to run it up the flagpole. If the piss ants who run PSU decide to remain silent, then they reap what they sow.

This is not good; nor is it surprising.

Those who have followed since 1993 know what kind of screwy things have taken place, in the polls and on the field, against Ohio State and especially Michigan.

Somebody let me know where this turd’s gravesite ends up, so I can spend a long time at Taco Bell and then go pay my respects.

I appreciate CJF's positivity in press conferences discussing rules, etc. I think you can tell that he is making his opinions known in the background.

If an 11 and 1 PSU goes to the B1G and wins the championship, I would love to hear CJF say something like, "We're the best team in the B1G and our resume demands a spot in the final four...(*turns to Delany* and says)...unlike 2016, the Penn State community just needs to hear the Commissioner say it...(passes the mic)".

And then the team that he pimped for, O$U, crapped the bed and lost to Clemson 31-0.

Lots of great posts in this string.
Franklin is at his destination job right now.
He ain't going anywhere ever.
He will continue to recruit and coach like a mofo and will win a national championship for us.
And if Delaney is dead already we will all join hands and dance for joy upon his grave.
