Don't see another Pitt Win this year

I know we love to hate on Pitt, but they will definitely win another game, probably a couple more. Syracuse, UVA, Wake Forest, Duke all on the schedule, all not very good. This is like the idiots on the Lair saying that we are going 6-6 after the App State game

They have a few real cream puffs still on the schedule. PITT will probably win around 3 or 4 more games. This will be enough to resurrect the DUZZ is a coaching genius and stars don’t matter threads on the LAIR. Actually that might be enough for them to claim another NATTY.

Not that they have the same level of talent as PSU 2016, but remember what everyone thought after the Michigan loss. Pitt will probably win five to seven games.

Yeah, it's fun to revel in Pitt's lopsided loss to Penn State, and they aren't going to win the ACC, but they will win more games. They won't play many more teams as good as Penn State this year, maybe only Clemson being in our class.

They will be fine. Narduzzi is not a horrible coach they just can’t recruit on the same level

Looking at their schedule, the best chances are road games. Could a 1-11 season cost Duzzi his job?
I hope not!!!!:(

I have them at 3 more wins.
Maybe GT because they have a bunch of players hurt and Maybe Duke because their QB got hurt and UVA.
They aren't beating UCF, Syracuse, (LOL Syracuse might put 60 on them), ND, VT, WF or Da overrated U.
So I have them at 4-8.
Didn't NoDnuzzi promise his boosters they would be playing in the ACC title game?

I can't predict Pitt's record but he was just given an extension which fortunately will keep Dooz in Oakland for awhile. Unless his agent is a idiot, I'm sure the new contract includes a buyout in the event of a firing. The Pitt AD would need to consider if the buyout is worth firing the guy.

I think they have a chance to win 5-6 games due to their division being mediocre, but their offense needs to find some play makers at WR. They aren't going to be able to rely on just running the ball. Look how PSU stopped them in the 2nd half by just making some adjustments. If they don't start throwing the ball down field it will be a long year for them.

Disagree. I don't know if any coach (not even in high school) who would (a.) tell the media BEFORE THE GAME that the party will be in his locker room after the game, (b.) complain about the opponents receivers pushing off prior to the game, (c.) making remarks about an opposing player (Wade) not doing much, (d.) have a stupid 4th Quarter Party.

He is arrogant. He is an idiot. He's got a big mouth. And his team isn't well prepared. That all equals being a horrible coach.

Well he had done all those things and may be an unlikeable person. But he has also knocked off top teams in each of the last two seasons.

I have them at 4 wins. What I don't get is that they have very little talent at WR but they don't use Paris Ford at all. Geez when Joe got Justin King he used him on the offense all the time his first few years.

Yea but he did that with some actual talented players that are now in the NFL. Which begs the question shouldn't pitt have been much better in 2016?
They have very, very little talent on their current roster. In fact they only had 2 players I would take for our team.
I liked their big RB Ollison and I liked their MLB Wirgis (Sp?) thats it.
Either Pickett is completely over rated or the OC is an idiot.

I’m sure that one could safely assume that both are correct. Pickett is overrated and the OC is an idiot.

They knocked off Clemson and Miami because Clemson and Miami took them too lightly. You can’t do that.

It's in penn state's best interest for our OOC, opponents to do well, especially a team we beat on the road. Pitt has a good enough run game to win its share in the ACC provided they don't let this loss demoralize them.

I disagree somewhat, I think they lose to "Cuse and Duke - both are better than Pitt at this time. The stupid part of building this game up so much for Pitt is that they already feel their season is a failure - it will be of course but why rush it.

I don't think pitt has the DB's to stop SU. I could see 'Cuse putting 60 on them.

They play in the ACC Coastal, the weakest division in college football. They will likely win a few more by beating some of the many slugs in that division.

I know that some people here figure that harping on PITT is dated, but I hate the bastards. Yes I’ll enjoy the year long implosion of their season, a dish best eaten cold and all that. But I will derive even greater pleasure in reading how the denizens of the LAIR delude themselves into thinking a 3 and 9 season is a great springboard for next year.

I too would enjoy that, alas I was banned by Chris Peake and his thin skinned mods for suggesting this years "key chain" was going to be lopsided.
Touchy bunch over there. LOL.

That situation is mystifying. I don't know the first think about Ford since he got to Pitt, but I recall during his recruitment that he was going to be another two way star -- mostly D but getting some reps on O -- like Whitehead.

The jet sweep to Hamler was so obvious to me. I knew we were going to get him the ball and when I saw him in motion timed with the snap, I knew exactly what was coming. Franklin gets the ball in the hands of his playmakers. If Ford is really a playmaker, it should be a no brainer to get him the ball.

win or lose, very few will see it

Reading the first 6 posts of this thread is already more attention than I care to give to Pitt's fortunes, until Sept 14th, 2019.

They also knocked off us, the same year as Clemson. We were the B1G champion that year

Clemson was No. 1 or 2 in the country and a serious candidate to win the national title when Pitt won. Miami was No. 2 in the country when Pitt won. Penn State was not highly thought of (and had yet to lose 49-10 or whatever to Michigan) when Pitt won. In fact, Pitt was favored to win the game, so it was no upset.

Clemson basically had the game won, they were up by at least a TD deep in pitt territory and watson, got greedy (maybe wanted style points?) and tried to jam a ball into coverage in the endzone when they shouldn't have even been throwing, which pitt picked off and returned 70 yards. Had they played the game normally, they would have run the ball, milked a bunch of clock, and kicked a FG putting pitt in a 11 point deficit with three or four minutes left..

They will win another game or two, but they may only be favored in one or two for the rest of the season (Syr and maybe at UVA).

Aside from his athletic skills, he was good in the world of academia. I believe he completed his studies in two and a half years. Didn't James bring Justin on staff recently? Maybe Ford is having some academic issues that need to be addressed before taking the playing field?

After this post I’m done talking about PITT, it’s time to on. But the really delusional on the LAIR have recovered and are now convinced that they sweep the next 5 conference games giving them a perfect record and playing for the Coastal Championship against Va Tech. The crushing by PSU and the two future blowouts by CFU and ND of course aren’t mentioned because reality isn’t in their DNA.

Yeah, take a look at their schedule. The ACC Coastal is extremely weak, especially this year. GT has some guys out and Pitt has them at home. Look for a rebound by the Panthers this week. I'd predict 6, maybe 7 wins for Pitt this year.
