Facundo #5 in Flo rankings

you should stop getting mad on the internet. none of this matters

Mad? I'm not mad - just never been more confident that you are the most delusional tool on this board who puts far more stock in his proclamations than a rational person should.

The only way I see this as a 5-2 match is if Brands runs the whole match and the ref is kind and doesn't call him for stalling multiple times.
can nelson score consistently? no. is he extremely difficult to score on? yeah.

you guys act like starocci is some insane offensive juggernaut. he hasn't wrestled a single qualifier this year and still doesn't have 100% bonus lol

Since I am unsure you actually possess the ability to recognize when you are wrong, I am doubtful you will feel as silly as you should at the conclusion of 174.

looking forward to circling back with you. i'll take my medicine if need be. will you?

Only way Brands keeps it to a decision is to hand fights (stalls) on roller skates and not engages. If he comes to wrestle his gets majored.

When Nelson loses by decision, it will be because he stalled. He is expected to fire off multiple wild shots so Carter can continuously counter those into takedowns of his own. That’s the strategy Nelson should employ so he can get bonused.

See, already making excuses. Nelson hand fights and doesn’t shoot often almost every match. Have you watched him wrestle? He lost to #2 Labriola 3-2 in a single takedown match. But I’ve already been told that Carter is light years ahead of Labriola. If that’s the case, then we could make the same claim that Carter winning a national title is because how weak the rest of the field is at 174, a la Spencer Lee at 125.

If by “multiple wild shots”, you mean ANY shot at all, then yeah, you’re correct.

I already know he might take one shot the entire match. His job is to try to keep it close and steal one at the end. Not gonna happen but he saves team points by keeping it to a decision. Actually, a lot of these matches could be pretty boring. I could see 141, 149, 165 and 197 being grinders. 157 maybe but Siebrecht likes to roll around a little bit so that one will probably open up. Even HWY could be that way, especially if it’s the deciding match.

listen closely and you can hear the beautiful sound of goalposts shifting

if your boy is who you think he is, it shouldn’t matter how many shots nelson takes!

It's "his job" to intentionally stall - is that really your opinion? It is not legal to wrestle in a manner designed solely to prevent your opponent from scoring - you realize this, yes?

I don't know. I am pretty self aware of when I am wrong. That however does not mean for a split second I am very public about acknowledging it.
that’s pathetic lol it’s an anonymous message board and you can’t admit when you’re wrong? coward!

That's a long fall from the Gable era. The idea of stalling to a close loss would have rarely entered Gable's mind. I am sure there are more examples but the second nationals finals match between Prescott and Zaputil is the only time I can recall a Gable kid intentionally stalling hoping to steal one at the end, or to keep a match close.

Maybe we should hire Gable back?

Just because it is an anonymous message board doesn't mean there is not a message board persona to maintain.
Besides, I have yet to see a post from js8793 acknowledging a wrong.
Just saying.

Rivalry smack talk aside… I do want to see RBY and Carter open it up more than they have. Both seem to want to ride/turn but end up with dominant 6-2 type decisions with 2;35 riding time.

Carter especially since he won it all with a broken hand last year.

RBY just wants to win against tough guys and entertain against overmatched guys. Be a 3xer and head to MMA.

If you could get him to look into a half, too, that would be great.
I’ll owe ya a cold one.

So you admit that Brands strategy will be to not get majored, instead of trying to win the match. I agree.

Yes, he does - that post was patty-cake in comparison to this one in that regard.

Isn’t that just called defense? I’m actually with the Iowa boys on this one. His job is to handfight, play defense, and not take any bad shots. Keep it close as long as possible and not give up bonus. If he does that it’s a win for Iowa in the dual. It’s what everyone is hoping and praying Steen can do even though we know that’s not likely.
