Any of ya'll ever make it out this way for Fargo? Normally I head up for freestyle, but I'm opting for Junior FS Finals and Greco. I know many want the tournament moved... But there's something about the place, man. I absolutely love it.

Should be a good tournament. If anyone other than Illinois with their 50,000 participants wins, I'll be surprised. Who should I be watching for, outside of my guys?

Unfortunately, the only time I've been in Fargo was in January and February... well, the locals do know a good time on snowmobiles and quad runners. Alcohol may or may not have been involved.

the bottom mat scroll on the flo video piece is refreshing every 3 secs making it very difficult to choose a mat

At least the OP wasn't talking about that awful movie from several years ago. Us Minnesotans loathed it.
Aw c’mon. That film is fantastic. No, not exactly kind to the local culture, but all Cohen Bros movies are like that. I have MN roots, and I loved it.

Hope to one day have occasion to see the wrestling tourney there.

I, for one, have never gotten the Cohen films, but there must be one that I liked and didn't know that it was there's.

Edit: Yep, I just looked and I loathed all of their films. Something that I seem to be missing, just like Tarrentino. I get his films NONE.

For starters, Minnesotans' accents don't even approximate that, which was the most maddening aspect. The other thing is that there was nothing true about the story. They took two completely separate incidents in MN and melded them into this bizarre, fictional tale.

Some people don't know how to think outside of the box. Excellent movies all around!

The accents are very exaggerated in the movie, it's true. Still a great film, IMO, as are most of the Cohen's work (but not all). I'm with Ban on Tarantino, though. I have enjoyed watching some of his movies, but I feel like nearly everything he gets credit for as a film maker is pretty much a straight lift from some earlier director's work. Cohens also "borrow" a lot (I think they'd call it homage), but they without a doubt have their own special sauce, IMO.

1 little preference: In the consolation brackets, show which match losers will go where. Maybe there's a way to figure that out, but one of the few pros that Track had was that you can see "Loser of Bout #53838" slots into the bracket on the backside.

Flo stream has been great. Wrestling has been good. Deeper we get, the more fun there is to be had!

MN had two kids pull tough 1 seeds (L Peterson got beat by Mastrogiovanni (first FLO BOMB), M Peterson, who's a state champ and overall hammer, got beat by Crookham of PA).

Most likely we will see Parris vs Cassioppi in the Semis, nice! Talk on Hawkreport is whether Parris can keep it close, lol, those guys crack me up, they honestly have no idea how good Parris is. The real question is whether Cass can keep it close with Parris who has been considered the better prospect for at least the last 2 years.

Some know how good Parris is..just saying

Only one guy at Fargo from TX that has a chance to become a Top 20 recruit. Not quite there yet, and he's unranked at the moment (probably oversight), but he was a NHSCA champ. Dominic Chavez- class of 2020. Has a match with Cullan Schriever in the Round of 32 of the JR 113 bracket.

Bartlett, Bartlett, Bartlett... We must get that kid. # 1 on my 2020 list. Cael can start talking to him Sept 1st.

two things re: Chavez's ranking.
1) he moved up in weight and 2) i thought he took a loss somewhere. someone else wrote me about him not being ranked and i went back and i couldn't find that loss so maybe i erred there.

i really like him though. and would expect him to be in after fargo.

No worries, you’re not a journalist, we appreciate all you do though which is a lot for the sport

I love that Illinois (my people) send such a strong contingent to Fargo, all other states are welcome to do the same :)

Looking forward to Cassiopi vs. Parris.

Hoping Jessen can break through this year as well.

Been a rough couple days for our Hawaii kids. Couple made deep runs and got close but only 1 AA. 94 lb first year cadet Mason Stefanelli. He threw the youngest of Mattin brothers for 4 at the buzzer. Kid is solid and travels. Has a good chance to be a Div 1 wrestler.

Girls was a different story brought 7 cadets 5 AA , 3 finalist , 1 champ.

Explanation marks?!? Lol! Was that intentional?
I was hoping for intentional!

“Explanation mark” is the perfect Spyker version of that old joke: “Oh, you don’t understand English? Let me say it more slowly for you ...”

For Spyker, it would be: “Oh, I’m not making sense? Let me explain it LOUDER FOR YOU!!! ...”

:)

Call off the Full Court Press!!

Watched it. I remain a huge fan. if you haven't seen it it's worth a watch they had one exchange where they both had standing single legs and danced around the mat for 30 seconds pretty unusual. He was the aggressor throughout. The other kids is a stud but scored mostly on counters and reattacks. Two step outs and got caught in a weird exchange trying a reversal and exposed his back. Plus my measuring stick is not freestyle. He would be awesome in a blue and white singlet.

Got to love Carson Manville too, it's hard to believe he is so young. He just looks so mature and strong for a sophomore. Athletic, fast, strong, agressive and relentless. Let's hope he viewes PSU favorably even though it seems big bro is boxed out of the lineup with no real daylight in sight. Maybe Mason is happy focusing on Greco, but everytime I watch Carson I come away thinking 'wow'! I try not to put too much stock in Sophomore kids as so much can change, but he is the real deal. In two more years he may/will end up being ranked the #1 p4p and will be on everyone's radar as the #1 recruit. Flo currently has him as #2 in the 2021 class and he only seems to get stronger, the kid is an animal.
