Game Thread, PSU - Minnesota

Sanctions/Injuries notwithstanding this is a piss poor program. Except for a few, this is a ball less team coached by incompetent coaches. Giesicki is the biggest stiff on the field.

You see, that's what bothers me. Sanctions, injuries, I get it. But that's no excuse for poor tackling, taking poor angles, etc. Everything that's coachable. And that is why Franklin and Pry are getting criticism -- whether deserved or not.

Loss of Golden was huge - he's our best tackler of the back 7 and without question our best open field tackler. Golden "squares up" on his angle to the hit - everyone else is constantly "reaching" from the side with poor angles and awful technique....that's why they couldn't stop that runner despite first contact at least 5 yards from the 1st down line and the runner ended up dragging the weak tackling pile 2 to 3 yards past the 1st Down marker!

Actually it is an excuse....rarely are your second and third team guys that solid. Otherwise they would be starters.

So do our receivers stink or is the play design awful? Nobody ever has any separation.

Good question. Starting this year the strengths were supposed to be the receivers and the defensive backs. Yet, the receivers can't get open and the D backs continue to let receivers wide open.

Just as I type that a PSU receiver gets open deep. ;)

McSorley threw that a good 60 yards in the air with his drop....as strong as his arm looked all year, especially on a late release due to having to scramble to find room to throw....

I guess that makes you and me a good team.
