What i dont get is the inconsistency. You went for it twice before on 4th. If you miss on the half yard line you give MN the ball with 99 yards to go.
Wow. I think Minnesota has more "all caps" calls by the officials against them so far in this game.
I get that Gaia is a captain and really thought that he might have found a home at center, but my god he is horrible. Really getting tired of him standing and watching his man make plays in our backfield.
Regardless of what happens, I'm actually glad that backups are getting the experience. It can only help the future of Penn State Football...
Gaia was recruited by Paterno. He committed on May 9, 2011, eight months before O'Brien became coach.
He's got very limited options of OL with more than 2 years in the program - your notion that he can just play a whole bunch of young, unseason, under-developed players is sheer fantasy.
Even under center the RB is basically the same depth, the QB takes the ball back to the RB so there's not much difference.
Laurent has played Center in the past and has looked much better than Gaia.
Was thinking the exact same thing. For a player who is supposed to be such an exceptional athlete, he can't break tackles or run away from LB's and safeties.
I thought it was the best tackle by a Penn State player all day. Really wrapped up.
Between PSU and the Steelers, I think my teams are under the impression that sacks are illegal this season.
Some of you are exaggerating a bit given that Minny came in 3-0 and was rated as one of the favorites to compete for the b1g West Title. PSU is basically playing 2nd and 3rd teamers at two-thirds of the positions on defense and their still tied....
I don't know about that. I think we were 3 - 9 one year.. Those were the dark days....
But of course, replay clearly confirms it absolutely was Offensive PI, as even announcers admit, and a horse$hit call.
