Hamler to NFL

What round is he projected to go? I don’t follow the NFL much so I have no idea the WR depth in this year’s draft.
Definitely not the first...I’ve looked at multiple mock drafts and most of them are only the first round and Hamler isn’t mentioned. Matos is mentioned in every draft as either the 18th or 25th pick by the Dolphins.

Boy oh boy, the pressure is now on for the freshmen WRs (both the redshirts and the true frosh) to step in and contribute.

I'm a huge Parker Washington fan......a shame he's not an early enrollee. I guess we'll see how far along Dunmore and TJ Jones are.

Walter football has a 3 round draft and doesn’t have him going in any of the 3.

I think he’s a late 2nd/3rd round pick. Unfortunately his biggest limitation, his size, is not something he can improve on with an additional year at Penn State. I would love to have him back but I feel like he’s making the right decision. Good luck and now let’s hope one of these other talented recruits can step up.

Perhaps some who have yet to enter the portal will see this as an opportunity.

And being a small guy, you always hold your breath when he takes a big hit.

Knowing that -- and given his past knee injuries -- you've got to strike while the iron is hot and get paid while you can. The last thing anybody would want to see is KJ come back and get hurt, only to jeopardize his NFL hopes. Gotta go now.

It makes sense for him to go as he is a lean WR who could get hurt.......but this upcoming years draft is LOADED at WR........someone is going to get a steal in round 3 or 4 if they use him correctly as a DeSean Jackson type player.

Walter Football hasn’t updated since Christmas, but didnt have KJ listed in the first three rounds.
It’s actually a deep class for WR. Lamb, Higgins, Jefferson, and the kid from TCU are all mocked to go in round 1.

My worry is his height. NFL QB rely on jump balls anymore and a lot of DB will have 4-5” on KJ.

I think he’s making a mistake. Outside of PSU, I still don’t think he’s very well known. His size is an issue, but if he got known like Tavon Austin did, it would be less of a problem. I could see his career fizzling out before it gets started.

True, but the iron is luke warm at best.

Based on his size I think he slides into the low middle rounds. I hope better but don’t see it. If he runs a 4.3 he will be a day 2 guy.
Good luck to him and I hope he does better than I expect in the draft and will do a long time pro.

I hope it's not Freddie Scott all over again.....

I don't recall, but what happened to Freddie Scott? Why didn't he make it in the NFL?
He was drafted. Without looking it up, I think he went to the Falcons. He was a great compliment to that offense. (Edit: to clarify - by “that” offense, I meant the 94 team)

he was in our dorm freshman year. He always took Arkansas on NCAA Basketball. And beat all of us. Lol

Exactly, hope Hamler gets paid and does great , but not sure how he is a better prospect than say DaSean Hamilton coming out who went in the 4th? KJ is quicker but not a better Wr and is smaller

Kid had to go. He isn’t getting bigger and one hit and his career could be over. A major knee injury ruins any shot Hamler has in the pros. He will alway be one of my favorite players because he is a great kid who gave everything to the program and represents our university with class. Hope someone like the Patriots or Saints draft him in the second or third round and that he has a long and successful NFL career.

Happy for KJ. He will be a success. We some young guys that can help at Z. I’d take a look at Ford and Slade there during the spring. Get more of that RB room on the field at the same time. I trust James and KC to do the right thing.

It's a deep WR draft and I hope he goes high but who knows? The NFL rules are changing in favor of player safety so I think that's a bonus for his size.
